@mrjamesob.bsky.social if we increase tax it should fall on the broadest shoulders - a land tax, increased tax on the rich and a wealth tax. For too long the wealthy have been enjoying low taxes. By the way we should never depend on the USA which is why we were stupid to leave the European Union.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social not everyone in the UK agreed with the 'task force' and the the US , at least initially, was critical of the Falklands campaign. Tony Benn wanted the UN to be involved and to get peace talks to avoid war and unnecessary deaths of young soldiers and sailors.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social did the Reagan administration support the UK in the Falklands war. I always thought that Reagan and Haig were critical of the UK's position πŸ€”. I thought they wanted talks instead, partly because ot the US friendship with anti communist governments in Latin America.

@mrjamesob.bsky.sociala wealth tax would pay for it James and maybe increase tax on the mega rich.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social no Labour gave the clear impression that these women would get their money. They are owed this money and must be paid. Maybe a wealth tax - get billionaires who have greatly benefitted over the last 14 years to help pay. They are owed this money!!

This needs to be taken very seriously. All donations that originate from abroad, no matter who is the final donor, should be banned. Only UK citizens should be allowed to donate to British political organisations

Can we rejoin the Customs Union, and even the Single Market, as a precursor to rejoining the EU; after we have a referendum of course? @mrjamesob.bsky.social
