Ethics, the study of right and wrong, and the basis for the choices we make, is a huge subject that I wish I knew better.

Some words, like those invented to oppress a class of people, we should get rid of.
Others are just meant to express anger or whatever and can be applied to anything. Are you suggesting we get rid of any mean word that has ever been applied to someone who doesn't deserve it?

I've been happy to think about this, but disagree.
Every language needs words that condemn bad ideas and people who promote them. I think it is a protection too far.
Just because a word can be used against innocent people doesn't mean it is inherently unjust.

Mexico is a great country with great people and Mexican Americans have every right to wave that flag.
Having said that, from an activist, messaging standpoint, I think they should all be walking up to police lines carrying American flags - a zillion of them.
