I saw a lot of posts this weekend where folks felt they couldn't participate in something because it looked like big accounts or was exclusive. Make sure you carry yourself in a way that lets people know that life on here is about #CommunityNotCompetition even if you never say those words. /1

"Other people are hell" Jean Paul Sartre. The thing that scares me the most is indoctrination. When a person loses their autonomy, freedom of thought and capacity for critical thinking is to my mind far worse than any other horror. Grateful for my upbringing that allowed me my own mind.

So they carried his throne down to the ocean Followed by crowds, there was quite a commotion. Canute sat on the throne facing the sea And spoke to it with great authority. “I am your king and I give this command - Use alt-text, walk the talk”

I’m still kind of amazed that there are journalists on Bluesky who still aren’t using alt text. This goes extra for those who critique the crackdown on DEI

Until alt text is used across the entire site, how can any non alt text contributor be taken seriously? Using alt text shows that you likely walk the talk.

If you must talk about them then please do me a solid and do so without photos of them. Who wants to look at that?

The Hunger Games is a documentary.

When posting an image, an alt text option appears as a boxed "alt" button on your pending image, tap that and then type out a descriptive of your image. This enables visually impaired blueskyers additional data to understand what's happening in your image-post. Cool right? Case in point;

Big shout out to all blueskyers trying to raise awareness about alt-text. I see what's happening and I have your back.

It's like watching a car crash, disastrous, compelling. I cannot take my eyes off it even though I know that I probably shouldn't as I have an allergy to the mere sight of them.

If I stood up to tyranny would you have my back? Or would it just be me?

The places you leave behind.

Nuetrality in times of extreme injustice is an extreme injustice and not professionalism.

The deplorables reaction to Bishop Budde's inaguaration sermon was one of the scariest things I have ever seen. Inhuman.

Techcrunch blocked and hidden for advertising an swasticar on Bluesky. Make it count.

Before checking out pics, I always check for the alt bottom right, if it isn't showing I tend to just scroll on by.

The aggressive nervousness as Mr Umentionable threw out his arm after having thuggishly slammed his chest, should tell you that he really meant it, twice. Trust your senses.

Whether rich or poor, black or white, man or woman, LGBT+ or Hetro, Brit or US, Disabled or not, Journo or an everyman, in this age single issue has to link arms laterally in common humanity, to break tribalism and nationalists ghettos. This is where our strength lies. The struggle is a team effort.

One line of weakness in the struggle. Is the slow drip of dismissiveness and compassion fatigue. Take a breath, give a damn, embrace the middle point of our intersectional common ground. This is where our strength lies.

Hey! Crazy feature here on Bluesky. If you enter settings, you are able to switch it so that you can't post till you also enter the alt text field too. Mind blown. The most anti maga thing ever right? 😉

How many aren't sure? Please allow me to reassure. It was definitely without a shadow of doubt exactly what we saw. Mr Unmentionable is indeed that. #DontLetThemGaslightYou

What is a border. The border between dreams & waking life. The border between personal space & shared space. The border between meta physics & applied. The border between my country & yours? The unmentionables have an arbitrary relationship to borders

It's a worldwide problem. The unmentionables are all connected and organized. Means we have to unite across borders, act locally, connect globally. Think globally.

Strange experience this evening spent painting an ocean scene. Zooming-in to fine pixels to detail, left me seeing the off canvas world pixelated. As if each pixel represented an atom.

When posting an image, an alt text option is at the bottom. Filling a descriptive of your image hits two bases; one; it enables visually impaired blueskyers additional cues to understand what's happening in your image-post and two; you get to detail informational subtext. Case in point;

Be cool.

Powerful.
