All of which is to say: I am so proud of what @pimlicat.bsky.social, @mrkennycampbell.bsky.social, and I have built.

All of these people, now asking for "nuance" have offered NONE in return.
Trump is not the fucking fault of the people who resisted him. He is the fault of the people who voted him AND those who refused to resist him, because they thought "he has a point" on their pet bigotry. Enough now.

The pod is so excellent that I may move to the next tier of support to express my gratitude . When my Guardian subscription expires I will make Quiet Riot the beneficiary.

Cardinal Cosplay will be auditioning for a leading role in the Binfire of the Vanities. I think he styled himself on Obadiah Slope.

I think lobbyists should be forced to wait in the street waving little scrolls while being ignored by passing ministers.

I think I’m listening to an AI generated or “enhanced” narration. The cadence is too regular and there is no variation. Every sentence has the same changes in pitch. The reader is named but I think he’s been cloned. I feel defrauded.

I’ve defended Starmer in spite of my disappointments but if he allows tax evasion to go uninvestigated and our health service to be cannibalised by American companies , I’ll leave the party but I’ll still vote to block the right because Reform is poison to decent people.

Vincent Deary is a profoundly wise & humane voice. I don’t imagine that he is widely read in political circles (although Alex Andreou interviewed him last year) His first book, “How we Are”, is also exceptionally insightful.

I remember taking my three year old son to the newsagents(1980’s) and he would head straight for the carousel of ladybird books and ignore the sweets. It was his favourite treat. They made him a precocious reader.

Under the most superficial analysis, sure: Trump invented a fight, then invented a solution & perhaps his base will think this terribly effective. But he is inflicting permanent damage to his country's interests for no good no reason whatever. That point should probably be included in the reporting.

I have seldom heard a more slippery and evasive politician than Griffith. He’s afraid to say anything that might be interpreted as a criticism of Musk and Trump. Contemptible.

It’s about time his support for Trump, Putin and every other far right deplorable was hung round his neck at every opportunity. He’s been getting an easy ride.

There are many good people here but there are also those among us who are merely polite. The British capacity for hypocrisy is legendary. Beware of the oily manners of Rees Mogg and his ilk which mask a cold hearted and selfish world view.

That thought also occurred to me yesterday. There must be more congenial countries to conduct research and be creative.

I think it’s very optimistic of you to speculate on the musings of historians a thousand years hence given our current trajectory.
