Dear god, going through the replies is killing my confidence that future elections will go better than 2024.

Were they mostly independently wealthy? I've been getting the impression a lot of problems stem from the people who rise to those ranks, went through life with immense privilege, and that type of person makes up the majority of think tankers.

Throwing federal workers out of work; busting their unions; disabling the NLRB & the MSPB; cratering consumer confidence -- these are the actions of an administration that wants workers to have to beg for scraps

I'd imagine they'd be utilizing ai now to process it at all and filter it down to a far smaller number of people to monitor closely. Or just have ai setup to always be adding details.

Love that plant, I tried collecting several of stapelias and zebrinas but difficult for me to keep them alive in my area. And thank you for acknowledging who started the ban! Sad we're entering an insane era of full on state sponsored propaganda.

Haha yes its real and definitely a lot of dedicated gardeners maintain it all! It's the Huntington gardens outside of Los Angeles. So far it's the most impressive desert garden I've been to in the USA. All the blue agave are behind the large golden barrels at the end of the path in this photo.

I like how half the article hyper focuses on life expectancy and ends with actual change will be made by changes in policy, not murder. Like no shit Sherlock lol

Gorgeous shots and amazing you've captured them with so many types of prey especially the snake shot! I have yet to see a blue heron catch anything

My biggest gripe with threads was that my main reason for this type of platform is to follow political news. But if I liked a single post in something else like photography, then my threads became filled with moronic engagement bait like "shooting on film is dumb" I'm hoping bluesky doesn't do that

The 55 species all have a range of beaks from short hard ones to break nuts, to longer delicate ones for nectar, and every form between due to adaptive radiation, an evolutionary process that causes a species to rapidly change to take advantage of different food types on a limited landmass #birds

The i'iwi and 54 other species that are endemic to Hawaii all evolved from the Asian rosy finch that came to the islands 7 million years ago. #birds
