I do stories. Sing some, write some, tell some, film some, preach some. Better stories make a better world. Sort-of retired Presbyterian pastor. Singer-songwriter. Filmmaker. Grandpa. Slinger of discs.

I've been married to one for almost 45 years and our middle child is another. Their respective capacities to make or tolerate noise cover the whole range, and I've been making bad/dad jokes about it the entire time. Laughter is part of building my own resilience for resistance. Fight on!

or earlier -- my paternal grandmother (only grand who lived long enough for me to know) once told my mom that she knew within a month that she had made a big mistake in marrying my grandfather but that in that time (1920-ish) divorce was unthinkable. I'm selfishly glad for that! Also sad for her.

I think you misspelled grate; grating being the one consistent thread through Brooks' long, tedious career of writing the conventional wisdom of the oligarchy

sure, but sticking with Booker's storyline, we knew what the problems were before John Lewis tried to walk across that bridge in Selma; sometimes stunts have the power to galvanize others to join movements. We'll see if the senator's words resonate beyond the senate chamber

If they are literally posters on walls tear them down. If they are going to act like teenagers treat them like teenagers.
