@jamiedelano.bsky.social Hello! Could I possibly drop you a DM or email about a piece I'm writing?

Would you like to win a summery Cornish care package? My latest novel ("a captivating tale" - HEAT), Cornish tea, honey and Parmesan thins. Just repost this and I'll put you in the draw! Ends Sunday 22 June, then I'll draw the winner. (UK only, sorry!) #Cornwall #books 💙📚

My next project is my fourth folk horror novel. I know who the characters are and pretty much most of what happens, in what order. But I can’t start writing yet, until… I don’t really know. Until all the bits get struck by lightning and fuse together into a novel, not a story.

I know the words to every single song on this BBC2 1985 thing.

If he was serious about being a king he’d have called it Trumping The Colour.

Courtesy of my Auntie Sheila, a page from the Wigan Post and Chronicle, May 6, 1972, with pix of the Bickershaw Festival, that featured the Kinks and Hawkwind among others. It was also my very first gig, aged 2. I wrote about it here: www.tortoisemedia.com/2022/05/06/l...

Call me old fashioned, but people really shouldn’t bomb other people.

Happy Friday 13th to all who celebrate! For your consideration on this auspicious day I would like to commend to you my folk horror novels WITHERED HILL and SCUTTLER’S COVE. Buying links and book info here: www.canelo.co/authors/davi...

Just finished this work of staggering genius, Withered Hill by David Barnett, and need to tell the world. I mean, if I were going to do an elevator pitch I would probably say Bridget Jones meets the Wicker Man, but that's terrible and this is *actually brilliant*... #booksky #folkhorrorsky

People have been asking me where to start with my books. I suggest the beginning, as that way the story makes more sense.

Why not get yer da my folk horror novels for Father's Day, while he's waiting for the new Sven Hassel to come out?

Why don't we ever eat turkey eggs?

Am I doing this book promo thing right? Put some random Amazon reviews on here.

Ronnie Barker goes into a bookshop, says to Ronnie Corbett behind the counter, “Where are the Forsyths?”, Corbett puts four scythes on the counter, Barker says, “No, the Frederick Forsyths”, Corbett says, “Ah, this is a hardware store, the bookshop’s next door”, then Death comes in and buys a scythe

Once again, there is a new Fantastic Four film, and once again, the mighty Choppersquad have been cruelly overlooked for the soundtrack with their top 90s hit Mr Fantastic. soundcloud.com/david-barnet...

Well, America, it's been fun, but have you got any grown-ups that can take charge now?

Not many people know that Chairman Mao published a sequel to his most famous volume, but it wasn't widely bought at all. It's known as his little-read book.
