I’m always reminding myself that I’m doing it because I love making music, not because I expect anybody else to care! Helps through the weekly Spotify/Apple Music emails telling me I’ve had no listeners this week!

That’s gold! Definitely going to give that a go next time.

How soon after needing to change the strings for the first time did you regret the Bigsby!? I’ve got a Tele with one and it’s lucky it’s beautiful because it’s a pain in the arse otherwise!

From my second album, might still be my best work!

Well, if you can get to Brentford, they’re playing a festival there in July!
But, yeah, they’re clearly producers first and it really comes across; Too Many DJs is an absolute beaut when it breaks down in the middle.

Saw them in Manchester on their last tour; absolutely brilliant night. Loved that album when it came out.

I subscribe to the Johnny Marr view that different guitars have different songs in them. Whenever I’m stuck for songs, I change which guitar is lying around where I idly pick them up and I’ll often find something.

Just in case I was wondering why my albums made with 2 mics, an e drum kit and guitar/bass DI into Pro Tools don’t sound professional…

No worries! Yeah, doing alright. In that phase having completed an album where I don’t think I’m going to be able to write another song!

Had a great time at both the shows on Sunday; absolutely wonderful carnage. Also thought Keyside were excellent; great support choice.

Similar to the many guitar bands who got big off the back of Britpop claiming they’re in no way Britpop.

I think it evokes a bit of Lady Of A Certain Age - a bit like her decreasing age points to her disconnect with reality, the thread of “faded portrait of a beauty queen” and “jaded beauty of a pageant queen” through to “just a shadow in a limousine” tell a story on their own.

Opens with the second homage to Joker Out. I’ve not really written a narrative song before; it’s a classic tale of a Golden Era Hollywood star fallen on hard times told through the narrator’s experience of them through time. I like that abstraction.

First of two Joker Out homages as well with the judicious use of a step ladder to accentuate the snare cracks!

No problem; I’m loving getting into new stuff since coming on Bluesky!
For my stuff; I’ve just released a new album (link below) and my other two are also on Bandcamp - I like the idea of collecting the best of all 3 together so might do that as well.
