Enjoyed your book, but universities will never move from the trash trough.

Interesting to see the patterns.

People often struggle to understand and act on these top-line numbers. We will likely experience some additional price and cost pain this summer, I believe.

Some case studies about cargo ship fires. gcaptain.com/a-brief-look...

Stewart, perhaps redesign and hardening of cargo ships are necessary. Many major EV-centered fires occurred in international shipping over the past decade.
You mentioned the IF cams. Saw some video on that being used by rescue craft. Interesting.

Carbon dioxide can suppress the battery fire, but not control it. It cannot cool down the battery pack or prevent the re-ignition. A water spray can suppress a fire, but it might react with Lithium to release combustible hydrogen gas.

Adam, I am curious about how you reached this conclusion. I am not saying I disagree. I would like to know what you believe based on the evidence you have considered.

5% of U.S. engineering grads are internationals.
In China, about 1.2 million engineering grads in 2023.

The U.S. seems long out of this game. Unable to organize the production of this metal, even though strategic concerns were known for years. Texas A&M produced the highest number of chem engineers in 2023: 300 or so grads. Interest in engineering is low in the U.S. About 120k-130k grads per year.

Yes, a very important story, one that is often overshadowed by competing bursts from other issues. We have LA to watch, the Trump/Must soap to view, and an above-the-fold article from The New York Times to read: "Can You Put Body Lotion on Your Face?"
