Gen. Milley criticized himself for being in uniform during his (I'm guessing compulsory) participation in the Bible-hoisting photo op amid protests in Lafayette Square. He also formally apologized a few days later in a speech to troops. I've always respected the guy.

Don't sweat it, Lauren. No one will ever think you're anything but white trash.

The challenge, of course, is that personnel issues invariably involve human beings, whom we all know to be complicated creatures -- all over the map really. To this non-lawyer, this is a reminder that while broad principles may always apply, judgment (and justice) demands a case-by-case examination.

I've been thinking that going all the way back to the Signal-chat fiasco (which has been shelved, astonishingly, as each new day brings its own disaster). Miller appears to have appointed himself to the role of Felon whisperer.

The Nazi salute was a Nazi salute. ANYTHING with which Musk is associated is tainted.

That he behaves like an 8-year-old ain't news. His own mental disintegration belongs on the front page daily.

His whining about the "Russia Russia Russia hoax" has been bubbling up again too.

I come back to this again and again, ad nauseum, until laughing it off as the stuff of cold days in hell. 2026, if we can make it. And if we can make it happen then.

The Felon's appointees are vile, Hegseth included, but the U.S. armed services bear zero responsibility for all this sedition.

Sounds like someone took notice of the Stephen Miller group's lawsuit. America First Legal if I remember correctly.

A young Hubert Humphrey in a speech at the 1948 Democratic National Convention: “The time has arrived in America for the Democratic Party to get out of the shadow of states’ rights and walk forthrightly into the bright sunshine of human rights.” Bigots, I fear, are with us always, so we #RESIST.

7-year survivor here (lung cancer) now dealing with aggressive prostate cancer and, wouldn't you know it, a new lung nodule. I know what you mean about cancer's not asking permission. But I join you in making the most of every day. So thankful I'm still here saying that. All the best, John!
