Guy was pardoned in Texas for shooting a legally armed protestor. 🤷🏻♀️

But I think I do agree with you that they're not going to do anything about yesterday's protests. He'll swagger around talking up his parade and that will be enough for him.

I don't think he thinks that deeply about it. I think he's focused on deporting as many people as possible and sending the military to show cities that he's in charge. I think he can't see past "hit the annoyance with a big stick."

Nah, they're remembering the unmarked minivans in Portland in 2020 and expecting the government is filing away every picture for facial recognition uses and future grabbing. Their paranoia is premature for the majority of people but I think it's understandable.

Because he instigated the whole thing by running at the crowd with a weapon. It'll still have to convince a jury. But it might. The other guy might end up charged with negligence or something, too.

Some of them really don't.
“Did I swear an oath to the president? Did I swear an oath to the governor?” the member said. “Or did I swear an oath to our basic, inalienable rights?”

Los Angeles, CA -
In front of the federal building hundreds of protesters chanting “shame” at marines. Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine in a truck just drove by with a full band, waved a “battle of Los Angeles” t shirt, people are dancing now.

In all seriousness, asking Mexican Americans not to waive the Mexican flag is like expecting Texans to shut up about Texas. Mexican culture is notoriously proud to the point of annoying every other Latino.

Unfortunately I found it without credit on Facebook. Share away and I'll let you know if I find out who first put it up.

The Australian journalist video got my heart pumping like crazy ... because the MPD shot a man in the leg, just like that, while I was clearly standing there in a press jacket interviewing him and he was doing nothing violent at all. This is a continuation and escalation.

You're right, I was mostly blowing off steam, not trying to contradict you 😊

I would like to say it's pitiful how many people need to feel in danger themselves before they care about the danger others have always been in. Except I have a feeling most of them will stop caring again once they stop feeling in danger. Which is, of course, even worse.

People have been sent back to countries they needed asylum from and died. People die in the immigration jails. People have been kidnapped by ICE and their families don't know where they are. During the BLM protests the Republicans weren't trying so hard to undermine the courts. It's different now.

They're not "stealing" in their eyes, just "making a better deal."

I'm not sure they understand it's corruption. They think it's just a more efficent, effective way to run things. It's wild how they do everything so openly. It really is like they took the complaints about red tape and assumed everyone believes all rules are bogus.

It isn't that simple. They stopped doing dna testing because a good number of cis women have XY chromosomes. There are cis men with XX, too. That alone isn't always enough to know how your hormones are going to grow you in the womb.

Standing around at a protest, probably.

Target is hurting. It's often a slow process but they're noticing.
