The McIntosh apple has gone from the most ubiquitous varietal to a rare sight, at least in the city. I assume since it's easily bruised it's been replaced by all these designer apples developed by like the University of Washington or SUNY-Cortland or whatever. A real shame.

If I were Whitney Tilson, I'd drop out of the Democratic primary and focus all my energy and money on running as an independent in November. You know, for all the bitching about the NY Subway, I got from 7th Ave in Brooklyn to Rockefeller Center in 24 minutes today for $2.90. It's the best deal on the planet and it's a shame we don't treasure this achievement more.
