It is like he missed the bit he was supposed to be angry about

Opposite those is a load of blocked off land promising even more housing. I know we've not been able to shift those so assume the next lot won't be built

I miss the golden age of SyFy when we used to get some pretty ropey looking series but with surprisingly good stories. They only cost £10 an episode to make, maybe, and they went on for ever.
We have too many nice looking things these days

It’s odd that it hasn’t occurred to him that the people who need defending have generally been accused of pretty horrific things

It is a good book. I read it last week and regaled the people around me with facts that I had just learned

The EU’s opening negotiating position should be “you’ll have to start driving on the other side of the road”
Then we’ll know if we’re ready

If this thing is to work as intended, I think it would be pretty tricky for it to not cover Canada's population centres just to be able to protect US population centres

It would be good to meet up. I'll be on the Q community stand a bit so should be easy to find

I think moderation is an element but I think a factor is that people expected to be joining a fully functioning network here. Many people aren’t used to (or interested in) the time and effort it takes to build things. So got bored and left

I do think that people not bothering to vote will be a key determinant

2004 felt very different. After the Iraq invasion, I couldn't find anyone who would support Labour in Birmingham. This feels more like a general malaise. People don't support them but don't actively want to punish them

Yeah, but those two came from years of local organising that's just not been happening in the rest of the City

A reduced Labour majority maybe but I really can't see any significant change in Birmingham. A few more independents, maybe two or three Greens and at best 5 Reform. Other than that largely the same

I’m pretty sure that their layers of security can only establish that votes were paid for correctly.

I commissioned that service. A long long time ago.
It happened to me recently and I was surprised they still hadn't cleared a direct digital connection

I want to pay for Thursday. But Thursday isn't an option. I can pay for today or tomorrow or, oddly, Last Friday through to Sunday.

Lending someone cash (and making a profit off the repayments) is a very different proposition from maintaining 7.8 million cars

I imagine that once Uber is confronted with buying, owning, insuring and maintaining cars for the first time, the cost saved on wages might not look so tempting

Do any taxi companies, big or small employ drivers? I've never heard of a taxi driver as an employee

The only plausible argument is that we pay taxi drivers too much money. From talking to taxi drivers about how much they actually get paid I don’t think this argument stands up
