AP News conducted an interview with the veterinarian I deal with, and conducted a simple interview with me and some people there. Translation in the video description box😻😻 thank you so much @apnews-world-rss.bsky.social youtu.be/buyWBiVDeLs?...

"I don't want to write anything that is a consolation. I don't want to console. I want us to feel just a tiny fraction. A tiny fraction more than we do in our deeply comfortable American lives [...]" —Lena Khalaf Tuffaha, Winner of the National Book Award in Poetry ▪︎ Palestinian American poet ▪︎ 🇵🇸

What the fuck did @aoc.bsky.social actually vote "yes" on HR 1449!? This is such an unbelievable slap in the face of students and Anti-Zionist Jews (yours truly) I am stunned. She's complicit in green lighting that appalling crackdown that is coming.

Palestinian children at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern #Gaza, held a protest on the occasion of the World's Children Day demanding the protection of their rights. #Palestine

there's a toggle in your settings which will force you to fill out alt text before posting pics. go switch it to "on" and Bluesky will make sure you're doing the right thing every time.

We are a group of autonomous writers, artists, educators and translators coming together to offer online courses and workshops to raise money for people in Gaza 🥀🥀🥀

Such a fantastic initiative!

My blog is free, because it’s not right to paywall existentially important content during an existential crisis. But if you read my articles, consider supporting me by subscribing for the price of a coffee a month so that I can continue this work: tsakraklides.com/about-2/

Another day at Bluesky, and it looks like growth is not slowing down! Welcome! We’d like to take a moment to share our stance on AI and user data:

THREAD: The UN Special Committee investigating Israel’s practices published its report yesterday concluding that Israel’s warfare in Gaza is consistent with the characteristics of genocide. Most notably, it captures some of Israel’s digital warfare and the conduct of social media companies.

Here's an owl video I did of a good tweet by @marpark.bsky.social - welcome back to bluesky, may we all do less doomscrolling at 2am and more joyposting!

Bluesky has grown by over 3M people in the last week — welcome! With every wave of growth naturally comes an increase in moderation reports. Here’s a status report on how the Trust & Safety team is handling it:

I keep forgetting that there are feeds. Have been sitting on Doom for days, and thinking how I feel at home on Bluesky 😂

A new UN report finds that the policies and practices of Israel are "consistent with the characteristics of genocide". There is no excuse for saying you did not know. This is genocide in plain sight. www.ohchr.org/en/documents...

An owl my husband spotted walking through the native woodland we protect at our place.🦉

We've prepared a zine version of "The Eye of Every Storm," in which an anarchist in Appalachia recounts the lessons they have learned in the course of responding to Hurricane Helene and offers advice about how to prepare for the disasters to come. crimethinc.com/zines/the-ey... Print + distribute!

My grandmother on my dad’s side comes from a village in Palestine called Al Walaja home to the second oldest olive tree in the world. The village was ethnically cleansed in 1948 but the tree stands to this day and is about 5000 years old.

Hi all! Most of you are following me from Twitter and know what you're getting into, but! I'm a historian of religious violence and apocalypticism--so much fun! I started with the First Crusade, I'm working on vast early America right now, and I also write public essays about contemporary US stuff.

Want to join my upcoming Naturalists feed? 'Like' this post. Please share! The more people this invitation reaches, the better.

Love to hear your thoughts on what I wrote. joesegal.medium.com/build-back-m...

I'm bad at promoting myself but I'm gonna try again. My c0mmissions list is totally open if you'd like to get a custom piece of artwork. I mostly do pet portraits, but I'm open to other ideas.

It's so nice to open an app that doesn't piss me off within 30 seconds of opening.

I'm so tired of this crap. joesegal.medium.com/please-dont-...

In case others could use this info. One of the plusses here imo :)

The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality. - James Baldwin

This universe is some absurd b-movie horseshit. 40 research monkeys escaped from a place called Alpha Genesis and are being searched for with thermal imaging cameras and traps, South Carolina? THIS week? I mean come the fuck on. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024...

Vesper sparrow, prairie rose, scarlet globe mallow and a curious white-tailed deer. Beautiful things seen at a beautiful place. Hope you’re all having a good weekend #birds 🌿 #wildflowers
