Oh my goodness. What an irritating thing to have happen to you. I hope you are able to make everything right.

Yes, they did a Psychedelic Furs cover. It was the only cover all night but it belonged in that sky.

Imagine thinking Leave It to Beaver portrayed real life. If people want to pursue a fictional version of reality, then why not go for one with magic and vampires instead?

I think people not doing anything creative because they aren’t good at it comes from the same place as the push to monetize everything - as if creativity on its own isn’t wonderful (it is!), as if practicing creative arts isn’t enough.

I don’t think I have anything I never share but I intentionally share things I do badly (like knitting) and art fails, because I want to encourage creativity in others, and people are so worried about being bad at stuff.

He doesn’t have a nasty nickname for Putin. It’s a tell.

I have and occasionally still do, if someone else has them. I am good with one now that I’m grown. I kinda love candy corn too, though I’m partial to the pumpkin ones.

When I worked for a DoD contractor, I couldn’t accept a $7 lunch from a potential subcontractor. I would think the rules would be/should be more strict for the Commander in Chief of the organization.

Even if you set aside the AI bit (not saying you should), the attitude towards administrative help is disturbing. If your admin help is sh*tty, the issue is almost always with the person hiring thinking anyone can do it. Being able to afford admin help is a DREAM come true & he doesn’t know it.

I struggle so hard with this. I feel like tying identity and worth to housekeeping for women of my generation was an intentional move to keep us from doing anything else. And yet.

Yeh - so many gender nonconforming children in my circle loved that world - and she filled it with feces.

When I was in college, there was this great bar called The Grand Finale. We just called it “Finales”. In addition to great bands and strong drinks, they had fantastic food. Cam’s Creole Gumbo was a spicy pile of fresh shrimp and I don’t know what else, but dang, it was good.

Good to know. I was so immersed in the Planetfall and Split Worlds series (and the Industrial Magic series so far). I listened to her narrate her own books on audiobook and my dog got so many long walks! I will check out the new one!

All she had to do was be quiet. But nooo. Her behavior broke the hearts of too many kids I know personally. It’s infuriating.

Interesting - it can be that way. There are a couple of very loved authors -popular with people I usually “group” with- who aren’t for me either. They’re not relevant to this topic though. Thank you for sharing!
