idk honestly. We have "cut back," which ofc is not the same as living ethically. I know families who have gone vegan or vegetarian because a kid got woke to it. I would have to be that family member. But momentum/intertia/roles in busy daily life get in the way of the convo/changes. Prob seems weak?

I feel bad hijacking this thread, but Goseg's an understanding person, and I want to answer - same reason I/people are slow to make other changes for ethical/environmental reasons - the systems involved are part of my/ my family's everyday life and have benefits. Driving/car ownership is a corollary

I know - respect to vegans. I'm not there yet

That sounds delicious! I meant the eggs though

The line moves slow because regular customers make conversation - I saw one customer give them a holiday card and a jar of homemade jelly. If I ever go vegan, these will be way harder to give up than freaking filet mignon

$8/dozen, best-tasting, biggest eggs I've ever had, at the Dupont Farmer's Market. You'll see the stall based on the line, get there early before the $8 jumbos run out, but the $7 large are like grocery store extra large. Slinging that delicious protein for my kid for breakfast every chance I get

You would still gave voted for Harris if she condemned genocide and supported trans people, and should have won. I voted for Harris, but I knew people wouldn’t if she didn’t respond to voters

No, point that thing away from the voters and at the candidates. Voters said what they wanted, Biden/Harris said, you’ll get what you get or we’ll blame you for Trump, voters said Fuck off.

Yeah I mean what's a little genocide and throwing trans people under the bus, like nobody's perfect

I held my nose and voted for her, but anyone paying attention knew we were sunk because of what part of their base Biden and Harris refused to support. When people withhold votes in primaries to show they're not bluffing, I hope politicians pay attention next time - if we get lucky and there is one

Turns out it would have worked to listen to voters on the left, and pandering to the center cost votes. People can vote how they want, that's democracy. Candidates have to listen to the voters. Harris made a show of not listening - "I'm speaking." Be mad at whoever, but it doesn't work that way 🤷♂️

Haha, I know this too well, all my kids’ friends’ parents always offer to chaperone, drive, pay for meals, etc. because they think we’re poor (we rent an apartment and don’t bother with owning a car because we don’t like throwing money away on mindless status BS)

This could happen to me, and if it does I will play along and ask for as much cash as I can get out of them on the spot
