💙 Yay, so good to see you again. I’m Dolly Hanson. I was studying Balkan history. I didn’t look like a melancholy radish back then, but that’s what too many years of helping prosecute war crimes does to you.

So true! Where are the Shriners???

Your thread on the parade route was very insightful. Could you possibly be the Erik Ledbetter I knew at Yale Hall of Graduate Studies in the late 1980s? 🤔

If more people used the excellent words of Kay Thompson’s “Eloise” skibble (to move quickly, get a move on) and sklathe (to laze about, unable and unwilling to move), my daughter would have been spared considerable embarrassment when she got to college and told her friends it was time to skibble. 😍

Dialogues so crazy, you might even be inspired to put on a staged reading of them 😉

Of course I agree that halting the vaccine is a terrible, dangerous, idiotic idea, please don’t get me wrong. I am just reacting to your description of panicking.
comment in response to post
Obviously I don’t know your immune status so forgive me if you have particular issues. If not, I would caution that panic is not called for: five years since COVID first appeared, we have all been exposed to the virus and had a chance to develop antibodies naturally. We are not as vulnerable as 2020

I have a daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother named Dorothea. And myself too, of course.
comment in response to post
😳 oh, I forgot that my name here somehow lost the Dorothea, so my comment looks rather random. But we Dorotheas must stick together and support each other!

There are never enough heroines named Dorothea!

Sewing a sewing machine cover on my sewing machine was very meta, let me tell you.

17?!? I could find 17 William Morris items in my house without even going upstairs! Eg, after I sewed my Golden Lily bench cushion, I used the leftover fabric to make a cover for my sewing machine; note also please the switch plate covers 😍

The y sound is not swear-word material? Someone has not spent much time—like not even two sentences’ worth—among Slavs

Plenty of people in public who are high or strung out or otherwise under the influence of drugs here in the US, though 😞
