I’ve been a big fan it’s first playtest. Fingers crossed it works well with my son who generally prefers competitive games. I’m hopeful.

My thoughts exactly.

It never gets old. Especially when your game is getting shared with loved ones.

"I shouldn’t have kept Evolution on the shelf for so long. It’s still great."

"I needn’t have worried about it being longer. Two wintery, mass extinctions later (losing more species than in the previous three games combined) we’ve burned through half of the cards. It’s harsh out there but the weather is getting warmer and my carnivores are nice and chubby."

“We’ll do this once,” I told her. “It’s going to be longer and the winner might just win more. If anyone has a bad time, we’re not doing it again.”

"For the fourth day in a row, my daughter has asked to play Evolution. I had to blow the dust off of the boxes. After two enjoyable base games and one very enjoyable Climate game, we’re midway through the fourth Climate game, during the setup of which she demanded we play with the entire deck."

I just read up on Jainism. Yep, that’s what I was thinking of. It turns out that I am almost a Jainist.

As I far off in my memory? High school was a long time ago, but their beliefs made an impression on me at the time.

That was very entertaining.
It reminds me of an ancient Indian culture I learned about in high school. They held all life sacred, were vegan, put webbing over their mouths
to keep from killing bugs, and tried not to walk for fear of
squashing bugs.

Thank you. This is very helpful.

Does this sound like an interesting game? If so, tell me why. If not, tell me why. That's what would be most helpful.

We're working on copy for the Kickstarter campaign, the back of the box, the rulebook, and our website. The game is fantastic. It's done. Now we need to figure out how to describe the game in a way that gets people excited.

If you'd be willing to make some suggestions that would probably help. Maybe point out the gerunds and what you mean by direct sentences with direct impact.
I'm not studied as a writer, so I'm not sure what those things mean, but I want to understand.

I looked it up but I still don't really understand what it is. A noun that comes from a verb? Is that the opposite of something like googling; a verb that comes from a noun?

I'm a game designer, not a writer. What's a gerund?

As the owner of a small delivery company, you transport essential goods across the stars, connecting worlds and cultures. Forge alliances with powerful alien partners, harness their unique expertise, and grow your humble venture.

There is. It’s more difficult to score the closer you get to the end zone, because the playing field condenses; people are packed closer together and your strategic options are more limited.
Catch-up mechanics are best when they’re baked into the core design and not added at the end.

That’s my philosophy too. This game is a hobby game though, so it’s got a fair amount of moving parts. I would put it at a 2.5 or 2.6 on the BGG weight.

It’s definitely a hobby game. My parents wouldn’t play it with me even if I paid them $100 each. 😂
comment in response to

No, there isn’t anything that feels game winning early on with equally skilled players. Or if so, we haven’t found it yet. A lot of the scoring comes at the end based on the aliens you’ve hired, so it’s hard to know what someone else’s score will be until you tally it at the end.
comment in response to

In this case, I don’t think it’s a balance issue as much as a point differential issue. A skilled player will be able to leverage the synergies better, and the points they get will be amplified by a greater amount. So the end result will be a larger score difference between first and last.

You know what else is going to pay the price? Any country that has natural resources that Trump thinks it can get it's hands on.
Today it's Panama, Canada, Gaza, and Greenland. Tomorrow it will be some other natural resource.

Better for rich people or better for poor people?
Private equity does a good job of making things better for rich people. I think the consolidation of wealth is at the expense of the longterm viability of our country, but those libertarians would argue differently.

If you go blind, we'll all know the real reason. Don't worry. We will honor your legacy by keeping quite about our suspicions.

I ignored politics when people were frothing about trivial differences.
I don't think this is superficial party politics. Our country is transtitioning from democracy to fascism, and it's dangerous. Anyone who can bring clarity to what's happening is free to pipe up as far as I'm concerned.

What's a "participating DMV retailer"? Any FLGS, LBS, or comic store who wants to support our local creator community! For example: @peoplesbooktakoma.com and @3geargames.bsky.social.
We also wanted to show off the other DVD game designers: @bengoldman.bsky.social, @dcrapuchettes.bsky.social,

The majority of MAGA are not for white supremacy. Most are in the bottom % of wage earners, which means their standard of living is worse today than 40 years ago. They distrust the government (for good reason - we let them down) and are afraid of the future. We want those MAGA to turn on Trump.

No one mentioned “only” waving US flags. The posts have been in support of the demonstrations, but some people (myself included) think so many foreign flags will fuel MAGA’s fear and vilification of immigrants. I want to stand up against xenophobia, but also invite MAGA to join us against fascism.

I’m not sure what you’re saying. I’m not a flag person. I have no emotional attachment to a piece of cloth on a stick. My comment is about how to be effective at keeping our democracy from falling into a dictatorship under someone who want to invade neighboring countries.
