So Dutton's latest policy is to make long boozy business lunches tax deductible. I wonder if he'll have anything to offer working people to make their lives easier. He is so pathetic. #auspol

Don't they know that nuclear - no, seriously 😵‍💫 - is much cheaper? #Auspol

IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility. Let’s be clear— it wastes public money to NOT do it. #CityMakingMath HT @modacitylife.bsky.social

The tripartite AUKUS agreement exacerbates the threat to Australia without committing the United States to containing China, writes Sam Roggeveen in this week’s Foreign Policy Essay.

Another idiot Qld LNP member trying to score political points off the Bruce Hwy. How many times do I have to say this? The program began in 2013 when you were in government. We're exhausted over this. We don't care which party. We just want to see the budget line items. #qldpol

After a solid half hour of research I finally decided on LibraryThing as my not-Goodreads going forward. Boody annoying to trawl through reviews & feature lists but I guess this is the world we're in now. No single over-arching app or service for things. Still can't decide if that's good or bad.

Can't see Joyce quote in it, but this is a fabulous read on the explosion of solar energy. #auspol “At current rates, solar is on track to provide 12 per cent of global electricity in three years, 24 per cent in six years, and 48 per cent in less than a decade." Tell me again, why nuclear good?

The Opposition STILL thinks #childcare is basically child-minding for rich folks. Birmingham has no understanding of the importance of childcare to working families or any appreciation of the social and #education benefits for children! #Childcare is about #EarlyChildhoodLearning. #auspol

David Crisafulli blames Labor for abortion being raised during the election but it was his own MPs that first spoke openly about their views. Now no one is allowed to debate the Termination of Pregnancy Act in parliament either to amend or repeal it. #qldpol x.com/7NewsBrisban...

The decision has been made to protect the welfare of the racing dogs, New Zealand's Racing Minister Winston Peters has announced.

Year another excellent piece by John Hewson in @satpaper.bsky.social, this time on the best future for the Aust Future Fund. Ethical investments (ie no more tobacco/oil/arms $) instead align with national interest & fund key public projects. So obvious- why didn’t Costello do that??

Politicians who condemned the recent arson attack on a Jewish synagogue but choose not to condemn this latest arson attack on an Islamic school bus may as well just openly admit that they are racist to the core.

How is it that the first two words of this tweet are somehow the most devastating.

Might it be possible that after 14 months of what has credibly been called a genocide, perpetrated by a man currently wanted for war crimes and crimes against humanity, that maybe we don’t begin headlines with what that particular man claims.

Draft CSIRO GenCost confirms solar & wind still best options. Even after billions are spent on nuclear reactors they would need substantial re-investment to survive the 80yrs Peter Dutton is claiming & no commercial small modular reactors exist. #auspol www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

James Paterson, that irrelevant dickhead, says that relations between Australia and Israel are an all-time low I wish it was true because this is the way it should be when you’ve got a rogue apartheid state mass murdering people

This is the sort of thing I like to see! A space industry beginning to grow in Australia! Time to dust of my old ARSE t-shirt! youtu.be/tkonyu8Dvdg?...

I've been really getting back into #lotro lately and reminded exactly why I love this now 17(?) year old janky MMO - the writing and atmosphere. No other game quite immerses you in a story and landscape like this. Especially the new Cardolan and Swanfleet area!

Geez, I really sm rusty at this whole social media thing. I'm never quite sure what the etiquette is. Is it all okay to just jump on reply to a load of posts, make a weird tweet connected to nothing and then vanish for weeks? I hope so, cause it's what I'm doing.

I genuinely love my job some days when it takes me to small towns I otherwise would have never taken the time to and enjoy and lets me talk to people from vastly different walks of life than mine.
