Via Etymology Online: kind of amazing how much history you can picture sometimes when given even a glimpse into the career of a single word.

Fuck Trump

My favorite.

Anyone want to help read some books this summer?

We feed you. They hunt us.

This is the same attitude in Boston. Lock the school, do not let anyone unknown in. Agents in alignment with Trump’s horrors will try to seep in any way they can to brutalize and traumatize.

How many more taco jokes are needed to pull back the National Guard from LA?

This is the first thing Trump has done this second term that really seems scary.

I guess we get the Kali Yuga we deserve.

One shouldn’t be surprised by these myriad connections, given both Thiel’s personal goals and his initial participation in Trump’s first term.

The fuck? “Spanning from October 2020 through the end of 2024, the records show that CBP swabbed the cheeks of … likely well over 1.5 million. … These figures mark a sweeping expansion of biometric surveillance—one that explicitly targets migrant populations, including children.”

#readinggoals

Recently finished Carlo Rovelli’s “Reality is it What it Seems,” and I’m finding it hard not to try to connect how he explains the relational aspect of quantum gravity with what I understand of Christos Yannaras’ description of relational ontology.

Sharing firstly because it does the admirable job of search for the truth in a story that is so easy to want to be true, but also because we always have to remember how easily lies can spread and drown the narrative. Remember the “true story” about the old lady who sued McDonald’s over hot coffee?

“FBI is not finding migrants by looking for terrorists. FBI is not finding migrants by looking for rapists. FBI is not finding migrants by looking for murderers. … CBP is also not finding drug dealers when finding migrants.”
