Hempstead Lake Long Island. Hooded merganser, ring billed gull, mallard, and according to eBird it's a 'lesser scaup'. Digging a bit I found it's also called a little bluebill or broadbill. Bluebill it is then. ;-) #birds

Brooklyn's Green-wood Cemetery with it's extraordinary Victorian mausoleums and monuments, 478 acres of rolling hills and ponds landscaped with exotic trees, live dozens of Monk Parakeets. The entrance tower they call home reaches 106 feet, bring binoculars when you come. #birds

Fall blooms around Levy Preserve's pond (Oceanside L.I.). Hoping to find something interesting abut the name bumblebee I asked Ai where the name comes from. Ai said it comes from the combination of the words bumble and bee. ;-)
