The only way the Liberals move past this is by Carney demanding the heads of the staffers on pikes. Make it as public as possible. Name the staffers who are fired. Make it clear they will never work within 1,000 miles of political levers ever again. Make an example. Anything less is unacceptable.

Does anyone seriously think that this was approved by a candidate, much less leadership? Maybe a chief of staff - MAYBE - but this has all the hallmarks of a bunch of bored staffers going for yuks. Also the CPC fluffing in the piece is super gross. “Poilievre’s staff were busy knocking on doors” ?

I just want to put in a plug for Tim Mak and his team at The Counteroffensive. They do a great job reporting from inside Ukraine on life during wartime. They're coming up on their anniversary, which means it's subscription renewal time, and they could use some support to keep up their work.

Civil rights are just hecatomb for war-on-terror-brain

honestly unfair to the others to include Hanania, who is, again, an *explicit racist* here.

If I were an editor at a prestigious national publication I would simply ask writers to define what they mean by words like "forced" www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

In my new article on 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶, I explore the entirely forgotten efforts of Ukraine's post-Maidan government to avert war in the East by appeasing the local population and elites.⬇️ donbasposting.substack.com/p/the-ukrain...

In 1941, the US Ambassador to Belgium interviewed Hitler. When Life magazine published it, they prefaced it like this:

these days if you tell me you’re into “wellness” i assume you are too stupid to breathe

frankly there are people in the press who treat discredited views as somehow verboten and forbidden views that are interesting as such

A reminder that a lot of people are standing up against tyranny. They pay a price for it, and they are still doing it.

there is a certain leftist on the internet who also believes in a violent overthrow of capitalism but also believes that any trade offs at all in policy change or reform is unacceptable

There’s a cohort of people for whom politics is primarily an excuse for their own unhappiness. Pointing to large-scale problems is preferable to acknowledging middle class ennui. This is why it’s accurate to say they LARPing as revolutionaries—they’re too cynical to do it outright.

Not to overly defend the press but I'm pretty sure the reason it got forgotten by the news cycle (though if polls are any guide, not by the voters) is that Trump got busy crashing the entire fucking economy in the most gloriously stupid fashion he could yet devise.

MAKE MORE WORLD WAR II PROPAGANDA

Jamelle-Kristol-Clausewitzian-Hegel-Fukuyamist thought:

OH MY GOD HAS ANYONE READ WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 1790????

Seriously. This Nextdoor post is why California has 25% of the nation’s homeless population.

Why u don’t day trade with actual capital kids

“What would our foreign policy look like if we stopped seeing the world as consisting of 200-odd states? What if we saw foreign policy as mostly about a world of 8 billion individuals—with the states usually standing in the way of how we would prefer, as liberals, to treat them?”

There's too many of you. You people are morons. Go follow these people who actually post coherent thoughts about military conflict and national security. You don't need to see me make fun of INDOPACOM on a daily basis. go.bsky.app/L8jnuau

I've gotten more hate mail for this piece than any other, a reminder that people myths that give people meaning die hard www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
