So true. It took me until recently to have enough catastrophes to realise that life just isn't all that serious. I love myself so much now and I am just so caring with my mental health that I've never felt more stable. People say you mentally mature at 25. But I think it's more like 30.

It almost feels perverse to obsess over misery. If you want to help people in an emergency, your time would be better spent taking a first aid course. If you want to make the world a better place, start with your family and the people at your work. Screaming at strangers online just widens the rift.

I was discussing this exact thing with a friend yesterday. Being aware of issues in the world is good, but being glued to a screen and exposing yourself to the horrors 24/7 is doing nothing but harming yourself. It's like those people who watch gory shock videos to "desensitise" themselves.

Bruh this is as close as I can get to pre-social media internet despite this being social media. Nothing feels too serious on here and you can hang out with your own people. I only use Tumblr and Bluesky as my public-facing communities these days.
