Amazing. She's been on my mind since I read about it. I'm so so grateful you are doing this, @frederikobermaier.com . I can't wait to see it and wish you all the best with it. Tremendous.

Quick pop in from maternity leave (!) to share this great tip truck write up from @niemanlab.org! @mkramer.bsky.social, @maryamjameel.bsky.social and team have a lot of other tip line upgrades and ideas in the works. Keep an eye on them for future outreach on wheels and otherwise.

Hi Bluesky, Nice to be here. My first actual posts will be self promotional -- fair warning! -- but in the interests of boosting traffic however modestly. ICYMI, I was happy to have a piece in @columjournreview.bsky.social a decade after I left. www.cjr.org/analysis/cov...

Today’s print front page of @latimes.com captures the horror. The Times, to its credit, has made its fire coverage free

Another thing bothering me about the Zuckerberg statement -- the assertion that fact-checkers have “destroyed more trust than they created." FCers are obviously imperfect and have made mistakes, but most of what people hear about them is ax-grinding by conservative elites, not fair-minded critiques

Great list. +1

Charming

People are leaving Twitter because it’s not fun anymore and no one is obligated to be on a platform they don’t enjoy. It’s not rocket science.

In a fit of kindness, and every once in a while, people who know my writings will ask me which of them is my personal favorite. It's this one. The Abyss of Observation Alone. archive.pressthink.org/2005/03/01/s... From 20 years ago.

This is getting overlooked, but the whole premise of Trump's threat of tariffs is based on a lie. He's claiming Mexico must be bullied into stopping migrants. But Mexico is *already* doing this. That's a big reason crossings have dropped. 1/ (new piece) newrepublic.com/article/1888...

I wrote this story about the migration to Bluesky, what it means and what it tells us about oligarchdom, state actor propaganda, big tech and whether you're the user or the product. Tell me what you think. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/a-fun...

Remember new users are coming on daily, unsure of engagement. The more posts you like and reply to, the strong the platform becomes !

Interesting get of a very private, incredibly significant actor. Arguably the most significant conservative activists of the last two decades. Read the definitive story on Leo here: www.propublica.org/article/we-d... Or listen to the podcast: www.propublica.org/article/we-d...

Home sweet home.

I wanted so much for Threads to welcome politics and news posts and people. A lot of us pleaded for it, to no avail. But they're missing us now. I have nearly 3x as many followers in less than 2 weeks of intensive engagement on @bsky.app than in over a year of trying to get things moving at Threads.

Wow. Bravo Bluesky!

dispiriting for sure.

Hi everyone. The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars. We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website. We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off. I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.

good morning new people I can’t possibly go through you all but hi!

I'm getting new followers here, so hello everyone, thanks for tuning in. I'm keeping my account Over There but will start posting here more frequently than I have in recent months. Haven't posted Over There for a while. Here's to better times!

Note to self: buy this book.

When prior twitter management suppressed covid misinfo, it was an “attack on free speech.” Musk limiting bellingcat’s reach because what they are saying is TRUE and he doesn’t like it. https://bsky.app/profile/maxberger.bsky.social/post/3jvv2cf6ksa2j

Reposting what seems to be a good idea to try to get places like @bluesky off the ground, which, for me, it's not yet (and doesn't seem to be going anywhere). Would be VERY happy to be proved wrong. Can I get an RT, or whatever they call it, @alexkowalski.bsky.social , @bnovak.bsky.social ....
