I’m seeing a lot of soft takes from industry mutuals at the moment that we shouldn’t be so hard on those who use generative AI because it’s becoming harder and harder to resist. Wrong. Betraying your ethics (and your peers) because ‘everyone else is doing it’ does not suddenly make it acceptable.

Living through dystopian times makes you realize that fiction is in general utopian, and paints a rosier picture of the world, not a darker one. I have never read a SF book which talked about being forced to powerlessly watch a genocide with children murdered every day onscreen in real time.

God I love when code that has been seemingly untouched for months just suddenly breaks. The enemies in my game suddenly couldn't handle going around corners, and instead just jittered in place, you know, for fun. Thankfully the fix wasn't as bad as I thought, just had to re-write navigation code.
