Healer's Touch was supposed to be a stand-alone, because publishers didn't want to commit to new authors without a complete story. I intended it to be stand-alone, honest. And the I realised my mMC, Jonas, had a story that needed more exploring, and the trilogy began to form …

Going by Craig Renney's Locked Out episode from last week, it is *bad*, so bad his video was old news before it aired. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGZ3...

Strike 2: They move in silence. No speeches. No headlines. Just the plan for the quiet deletion of 28 Treaty references from our laws one by one. As if to erase the tracks of Te Tiriti before the next assault. It’s not loud, but it’s the prep for the lethal blow. #NZPol #TogetherWeAreStronger

It’s worth mentioning that Bookshop.org was specifically created to help indies—you can buy online, choose an indie to support, and the store gets a huge percentage of the sale. Even if you don’t have an indie in your area, Bookshop supports bookstores!

Oh shame. Yeah, there aren't many markets still freely open to the little guy or gal. We seem to have so many "don't know what you got till it's gone" things cascading away at the moment. Hope you've got other opportunities coming up.

#FantasyIndiesApril 8th: Do I like to reread? Yes. Yes I love re-reading reliable favourite reads. Of course, I feel bad about it, knowing there might be a new favourite I could be discovering, but every now and then I just need to *know* I'm going to have a good time.

#FantasyIndiesApril 7th: Animals in WIP. In Magician's Touch, there are horses & farm animals. I'm still developing The Wolf & The Source which will have dragonfly-sized dragons, and werewolves (animals or people?), & plenty more yet to come to fruition.

#FantasyIndiesApril 6th: Characters' homes/land. Series opens in Aghacia, which is loosely 1860s-ish Aotearoa, with gold-mining & wealth extraction. Books 2&3 have spent a bit of time on a farm a couple of days' ride out from the nearest town … The small homestead for 2 now caters to 18.

#FantasyIndiesApril 4th: Free Friday or a relaxing place? Relaxing place? I'm a working mum with pets and a book to write. What is relaxing? I don't know. Bed, I guess.
