A great resource: AFP Fact Check to counter all the fake news coming out of a troll factory--I mean White House--about Canada: factcheck.afp.com/AFP-Canada

I am just reposting, and thanking all journalists, writers, and publications who are gifting articles during these difficult days.

No, because she actually looks like she could be someone who feels generally more secure about her masculinity. 😜

After signing an executive order granting Canada and the US another temporary tariff reprieve, the US president blamed "globalist" nations and corporations for market-wide declines and shrugged off spooked markets.

Ukraine’s former armed forces chief, who led the charge against Russia’s invasion for the first two years, has spoken out against the U.S. for throwing the world order into utter chaos.

⚡️Trump accuses Ukraine of being 'more difficult to deal with' than Russia. U.S. President Donald Trump finds it more difficult to deal with Kyiv than with Moscow, despite the fact that "Russia is bombing the hell out of Ukraine," he said during a White House briefing on March 7.

Since writing this article, I have received messages from federal civil servants who tell me it is accurate, and that they are frightened. Please share this with anyone who doesn't understand the scale of the transformation. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

So chilling

Fighting fake news + disinformation is a matter of Canadian security--and for US, too. The Canadian gov't makes huge efforts to cooperate with the US gov't on this. And: if Mexican cartels get all the way to Canada, they must've passed thru US. Think about it.

The White House is chock-full of people who should be institutionalized in some public facilities other than the White House.

Premier Wab Kinew is a real leader. And a funny one too.

Trump and Musk are going after Social Security, Medicaid, the VA, and public education. In what universe, in what world, in what religion is it morally acceptable to cut programs for hungry children in order to reward the wealthy?

But Frum's discussion of Zelenskyy is striking and utterly profound, as was Dr. Marci Shore's podcast (link in post further down).

This was an essential listen. But I disagree with analysis about The Decline of the American Empire. Director Denys Arcand drops many little nuggets about decadence, ethical and intellectual decay among Quebec's intellectual classes and how this presages decline and chaos. It was very à propos.

Once again, G-d nails it.

Countless emails asking how Americans can directly aid Ukrainian soldiers. Here’s an easy answer: savelife.in.ua/en/

Talk to any child who watched the meeting with brave Zelenskyy. Even kids under eight years old immediately know what they are seeing. What they see is not another child. What they see is pathology.

We are just post-Cabaret year, entering the Stalin purges year of the week.

You are so right.

Thankful for this discussion, which describes quite profoundly the deep psychological pathologies at work in Trump's meeting with the democratic world's bravest leader (Zelenskyy). Haven't heard some of these points discussed elsewhere.

The Trump proposition: "The president is betraying our foreign policy interests to Russia. He's starting unprovoked and costly trade wars with our closest allies. He's asserting unconstitutional powers - and extorting bribes from media companies. ...

G-d, with respect you should know the obvious answer to that question.

This was an important interview--right to the end.

Never in my life did I think I'd ever feel such gratitude and emotion for the U.S. National Park Service.

This is a gifted article and can be read in full.

Russian support of Vance and Trump

Ukraine is Europe! We stand by Ukraine. We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the agressor. Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.

A disgraceful day.

NEW: A searing editorial in the The Kyiv Independent. “It’s time to say it plainly. America’s leadership has switched sides in the war. The American people have not, and they should speak up. “A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky.” @kyivindependent.com

Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone, dear President Zelenskyy. We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace.

Here I react to the shameful encounter between American leaders and media and the Ukrainian president. No doubt there were more, but I saw five failures on our side: of hospitality, decency, democracy, strategy, and independence. Please watch and share. snyder.substack.com/p/five-failu...

Anyone who tells you you're overreacting is underreacting.
