Independent. Fiscally conservative. Socially more liberal. I know WHY I believe what I believe. Pacific NW. Mariners fan (actually Cal Raleigh fan). I believe most people are poorly informed.

Adley is currently the 2nd best catcher....... IN THE BALTIMORE ORGANIZATION.

To be fair to Miller, that's Dan's fault. Miller was absolutely going to have a Q start last time out and was pulled because Dan was "playing the long game." But...yes. It has been a disappointment, and this is our current reality.

It would be interesting to know who was NOT there. Looks pretty sparce for players.

None of it matters. The Analytics Group runs the roster, and they make decisions based on flawed algorithms because they do not understand baseball. Maybe we could trade Muñoz for another Canzone.

Arozarena refuses to cut down his swing to put a ball in play. His last AB told you everything you need to know about Randy Arozarena. Julio isn't far behind in his failure to adjust to the situation.

This is great stuff. Happy you're getting to see these guys in person. Tridents up!

resistance.....or denial.

Exactly. You can win if Julio hits. You can win if Cal hits. But if neither of those two guys is hitting, other guys have to step up big. It's a long season, and the division is stronger than most people think. The results will follow the preparation and focus. Go M's.

First rule of baserunning--make sure the ball gets through. Honestly, we teach 12 year olds that.

You missed my point entirely.

Nor is it all about stats for Cal. I love Varitek. I love that Cal loves Varitek. It's about toughness and leadership.

Garver will leave after this season. Ford will take over as the BU Catcher/DH/PH/PR/Etc.

Will Cal Raleigh have 300 HRs by the end of this contract? Three years down. Seven to go. Only seven Catchers in MLB history have at least 300 HRs. Only Mike Piazza (427) has hit at least 400.

If character matters, then Seattle just ensured a high level of team character for 7 years. As for Catching at least 100 games in at least 4 of the 6 years, Cal Raleigh does that in his sleep. Consider the 7th year of the contract a done deal. That will give Cal 10 full seasons with the Mariners.

Exactly. Two ways for a team to improve--get better players and the players you already have get better. Because it appears so difficult to get better hitters to come to Seattle, it seems the best best is the latter. Best bets to improve. Julio Garver Polanco JP Cal Beyond that, it's a crapshoot.

Jason is wrong. First, there is a big difference between poor months of 109 wRC+ and 71 (his low in 2024). Second, when your 7th or 8th hitters are inconsistent, it hurts. When your #2 hitter is inconsistent, it's hurts much more. And a 150 wRC+ would be fine. A 116 wRC+ won't do it.

I couldn't be happier. Cal Raleigh is by far the most important guy on the roster. Time to sew the "C" on his jersey.

Any of 44 other Democrats. And I'm serious.

Yeah. Mike is mad because what he voted for is happening...to him.

Congratulations, Wyoming. You elected her. Now choke on her.

You are correct. But no one we care about will play there. It will be a playhouse for Trumpers. That's why it will be a failure. His father is dead, so now others must subsidize his failures. And no. I doubt he'll ever leave. And he'll be replaced by a clone when he dies.

Support businesses that are good stewards of the wealth they amass. Do not support the companies of those who waste wealth or use it for evil.

I doubt you are correct. He wants to be associated with things that are successful. He wants the fame of being in the audience at important events. Sadly, he destroys them with his presence. They will recover when he has gone.
