I do not speak for the AAP and agree that this nomination is uniquely awful, be that as it may, should it ultimately go through the Academy will have to work with Congress and HHS on issues like Medicaid, which covers 1/3 of our nation's children, so I imagine there is a notion of a long game here

Correct, in my 10+ years as a member of the AAP, I have been involved in many advocacy campaigns regarding specific issues or pieces of legislation, but never for or against specific candidates or nominees

The AAP is a non-partisan organization and thus I don't know that it has a history of publicly supporting or opposing cabinet nominees

Hello Dr Carpiano, as a member of the AAP I can tel you that we have not been silent. There have been public statements about our grave concerns around RFK anti-vaccine stance, the AAP also collected hundreds of real stories about vaccines to submit for the record.
