What a photo.

I went to the opera twice today. The second time I was kinda drunk for the first act.

The Sydney domestic uber rank system is still a shitshow. Melbourne definitely does that bit better.

Took husband in a plane and he liked it! (Not sure why I was worried)

New Siri sounds depressed and unhappy. Also computer voice where it was previously more natural is crappy.

Pilot lols the other day. The instructor surprised me with a simulated engine failure right near the airport. First reaction was to look for a suitable grass landing field. As I found one and planned the approach I realised there was a really good runway just over there.

Twice to two days landing on the big kids runway at Canberra (35). Tiny Piper on big jumbo runway is a new experience. We’re not in Tasmania anymore, Toto.

Here you go.

I'd be interested to see if German-language media has a similar cycle when it comes to covering their elections as Anglo media. For 3 federal elections in a row now, Anglo media has been hyping up a possible AfD victory, and for 3 elections in a row they've massively underperformed expectations.

Loving the Newsreader. Is the diversity a little wishful thinking for the late 80s though? I guess ABC did have Indira Naidoo and Trisha Goddard around that time so perhaps media wasn’t completely Anglo.

Hotels that send you texts/whatsapps/emails etc ahead of time trying to say hi and get you to ‘pre check in’ can get in the bin. Also, hotels that harass you to get a digital key except then it doesn’t actually ever work and you have to go to reception with full ID/cards to check in anyway.

Oh Melbourne. Crossing Spencer St and this junkie in front of me drops his bag of nondescript powder on the street. He doesn’t notice as he’s too busy talking to himself and trying to put tomato sauce on the sausage roll I’m pretty sure he just nicked.

All this Lady Gaga and I’m thinking of an ad that played nonstop for my entire youth. Yep, I still know all the words. Biggest bunch of bastards under the sun, come in and say gday. youtu.be/YzkyaMiGgKc?...

A very interesting analysis from #OurABC #Australia called .. #IfYoureListening with #MattBevan 👏 This episode is: “What Elon Musk's DOGE cuts are really about | If You're Listening” youtu.be/lG9pxvpGY-Q?...

‘Our house gin is Beefeater’ ….Oh good good no what gross no thanks.

Someone’s car alarm has gone off for 30 seconds every 3 or 4 minutes since 10pm and it’s now nearly 1.30. May they suffer some sort of rather itchy malady every few minutes until Christmas.

I got Flighty because it came with great reviews. First run tonight and it still thinks my flight is nominally running on time even though it was cancelled 5 hours ago and definitely didn’t leave 3 hours ago.

Well done SMH, this is how you report lies -as lies

Salamanca Fridays might be drunk kids, but Thursday night is for tourist boomers. Also at Saturday markets I guess too.

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey:

Thanks Qantas for a surprise extra night in Hobart. Only a slight imbuggerance but I’ll still be at Kylie tomorrow night I’m sure.

If the ABC is going to give softball interviews to "former Home Affairs secretary" Mike Pezzullo, they should really disclose to readers that he was sacked from that job for 14 breaches of the Code of Conduct

They screwed this all up.

The jet lag got me this morning! 8am and struggling to get out of bed.

#ABC could at least put ‘disgraced’ in his title so ppl can take the word of this bloke with a grain of salt after he was sacked & stripped of his AO following 14 breaches of the code of conduct inc. “using his authority to seek to gain a benefit or advantage for himself”🤨

Did a week in Perth and normally on return east you struggle to go to sleep on time and then wake up late. I seem to have done the opposite and was awake at 4.45am eastern.

Some of the collection not in the Kylie set list tonight: Magic, Story, Your disco, Vegas High, Light years.

Kylie spoilers: Perth setlist Lights camera action In your eyes Get outta my way What do I have to do —— Come in my world ——— Good as gone Spinning around ———- Taboo (video) On a night like this Better the devil Shocked I believe in you ———- Things we do for love ——- Locomotion ——-

It’s on! #tension

After the 2000 Olympics you could rent a recording of the opening and closing ceremony at Video Ezy. I regard rewatching the World Pride Sydney concert on Iview as a much better modern prospect. Something about All the Lovers (after Dannii butchers her intro) gives me goosebumps and warms my heart.

A wise family friend once remarked Australians are by a significant margin mostly yobbos. I think the sentiment remains true but has anyone used this word since he said it in the late 90s?

Beaches but make it WA

Working in Perth for the week means a rather long work day where I manage to still be half asleep for morning stuff on east coast time.

Fun at 4,000ft when the trim wheel jams while we’re doing emergency landing drills, so abandon and we fly home holding the column in with a fair bit of force. Pretty happy how I went dealing with the surprise malfunction and chest workout.
