Someone should keep putting it back on there over and over.

Republicans in Congress should worry more about all the Federal employees they are letting Trump and Musk fire plus the people affected because of it. People are angry and they are not all nice Dems. Many are people that voted for them. Good luck, you weak and scared losers!

Not for long. Trump is losing tons of MAGA supporters. If he becomes King like he says, you'll be the last thing he cares about. There is no 'we' in winning. It is only him and he said that you people were dumb and he doesn't need you anymore. I doubt you're rich so you'll be screwed more than me.

I don't think the Dems can get any legislation brought up in the House or Congress. That would be great but Trump/Musk won't allow the funding to go through. Trump literally does not care about who is getting fired. Still, Dems could share it with the public so they know they tried. Spokesperson?

Republicans in Congress don't understand that by letting Trump do whatever he wants, they will lose their jobs. Too many bad things are happening to their constituents so they will not vote for them. Trump voters will continue to decrease. Stand up to Trump & fight for the people, it may save them.

You really have a nasty attitude. Its OK to ask but you fight. It's time for you to get off Bluesky and go back to your lying MAGA sites like X. People like you are so ignorant that X can feed you bullshit and you buy it You must have a miserable life so go over there to X where you belong.

I don't know what you mean by so many getting payments. 71.6 million get payments. This includes retired workers, dependents, disabled workers, and survivors. Over 52 million are retired workers. 2.6 million are spouses, 5.2 million are survivors (usually children), 7.2 ml disabled workers.

People with no birth date were old people that had a SSN. When they went to their first computer system (1978?),Social Security loaded all the SSNs in but only had paper records for birth certificates. They didn't update the new record unless they claimed funds. Most of them did not claim funds.

Disabled and mentally retarded people can live many years after their parents. It isn't cut off at 18 yrs. old. I know people who have a 20 yr old girl with downs syndrome and they are almost 70. If they die, their kid gets benefits until they die. Many down syndrome kids live until 60-70.

Ah, Putin has something big on Trump and Trump is scared of him. You can hear it in his voice when he lies about Putin. More than that, you can see it in his face. I wish Trump was gone for good so we could find out what Putin has on Trump.

We have seen how Trump is a failure at making good deals. He excluded Afghanistan from Peace talks and made a deal with the Taliban. This is the reason the withdrawal from Afghanistan was such a disaster. Many blame Biden but I blame Trump. He is doing the same thing with Ukraine by excluding them!

Trump is the biggest liar ever! He is a weak leader and an embarrassment to the world! He is no deal-maker. He only thinks about how he can make money off countries and kiss Putin's ass! Peace has a better chance if Trump is out of it He is the worst negotiator I have ever heard of. A sick man!

I forgot to add that others can claim a person's social security, like children and disabled people if their parent dies and was providing their support. So the person the benefits are paid to are alive but the account of the parent shows they are dead. You have to know the system and the data.
comment in response to

I understand people are guessing and giving their opinions but I feel Musk should be honest about what they find. Trump is repeating the lies to people who will never hear the truth. Sad that SS asked for money to update their system and Republicans in Congress denied it.
comment in response to

Musk is the liar because he doesn't know the data or systems. That is why he cut the Nuclear weapons people and USDA bird-flu workers that they are now trying to call back to work. And now the $8 billion he claimed to save was just proven to be a math error and was $8 million instead. Incompetence!

There is no querying in the version of cobol that SS has. The data can be extracted and put in a data warehouse to be queried but the system that processes the data and calculates payments is not query accessible.

There is no automatic claim for Social Security. Some people don't retire from their jobs so they don't claim it. They might plan to wait until they are 70 to get the most money. If they die before they claim it, have no spouse who claims it, then it never gets paid out.
comment in response to
post
The SS system also contains records for people who have money that goes into Social Security from their paycheck. Not all of these people ever claim the money. Some people die before they choose to claim it. Sometimes a spouse can claim it if old enough. Otherwise, it just stays in the system.
comment in response to

No, there wasn't a database migration that failed. The 1875 was programmed to be put in the record if converted or entered without an available birth date.
comment in response to
post
Also, these records without a birth date are for people who are dead. They had a SSN but no electronic record is available to get the birth date or date of death. They could archive them but it costs money. Since they don't get payments, there is no savings.
comment in response to
post
Bboy, you make dumb assumptions. Records that were created without a birth date are 'old' records from before the Cobol-based system was created. They are NOT receiving payments. When no birth date is available, the birth date is set to 1875. No payments are made for people older than 115 yrs old.
comment in response to
post
Yes we think it matters because the rich are the ones yelling for tax cuts when they pay so little. Musk has a conflict of interest because he has billions in contracts from US agencies and wants more. Rich people don't have a clue about what being fired does to someone just trying to make it.
comment in response to
post
The point is that Musk tries to make a case for corruption based on his limited knowledge of the Social Security system. He is not as smart as people think and throughout his life, he has made false assumptions about tons of things. Rich doesn't mean smart if you have the right people around.
comment in response to
post
Musk claims the number of people in the Social Security database that have the Death field as 'False' is proof of corruption is false. How many get payments or are they just people paying into their SSN account. If they get payment, it could be disabled people collecting on parent's SSN. Idiots!

The Cobol programming code used by Social Security puts the code '1875' in the birth date field for records without a birth date. DOGE is using that code to calculate birth date and thinking people 150 yrs old are getting paid. It is a lie! Nobody 150 yrs old are getting paid. They're idiots!

It is the COBOL language they don't know or understand since they are too young. They found 1875 in the birth date field and assumed the person was 150 yrs old. However, 1875 is the default for a birth date they don't have. They don't know the data or the system so they just made assumptions. Dumb!

I understand since I am close to Ohio. I think this man was very creative in giving an example of how many MAGA people think. I see the X posts for those now impacted by Trump/Musk policies who are crying that they didn't think he would hurt them. The MAGA who think Trump is doing good are dumb.

What will be the harm since Trump won? CBS has free speech rights too. Fox News lies more and actually gave Trump the questions for his interview. We no a cheater when we see one. Trump is wasting his time on a CBS lawsuit because he will lose.

Oh Geez! Who wants to be an American under Trump! They would have to be under all the stress that we normal people are because of the clowns in the Trump administration. They would lose rights they have by coming here. Don't fall for it or the money they promise that they will rob you for.

We hope he continues to be creative because he points out just how stupid people think. They won't listen to facts and try to justify their bad decision. They think it won't happen to them and when it does, then beg to be excluded from the mess they created. They blame others when it affects them.

Oops, you are on the wrong chat site. I think it is X (twitter) you want to be on where all the other deranged MAGA psychos are. This is for the educated and caring people who REALLY want to save democracy, not the dumb people who worship the Orange, Demented lunatic in the Oval office and Musk.

This was exactly what I was talking about! Musk's boys can copy/scan data but they don't know how to analyze it. They are too young to know Cobol or PL/1 so they make false statements about data they don't understand. It's all a joke because Musk thinks he's smart but doesn't know the govt.

So who cares what Musk wants? People in hell want ice water! Musk isn't an elected or confirmed government employee. He can ask for it and Republicans will probably give it to him but it doesn't mean others won't do oversight. It just won't e done by Congress.

It was a lose-lose for Biden. If he saved Tik-tok then he would be slammed for going against SC and Congress and Trump would take credit for saving it and claim he's the hero. If he didn't do anything, then everybody would blame him and Trump would save it and still claim he's the hero.

You darn well know that if it was the other way around, Trump would be saying the Blue states owe money and he isn't going to help them. I used to think we needed to maintain our nice morals as an example to the GOP but it is pointless. We have to start standing up to them. I can't take it anymore!

Trump will never lose his power over the Republicans as long as they keep handing their power over to him. If they didn't do that, Trump would have to come to them and negotiate. They're scared of him. Cowards! How could people this dumb get elected to Congress?
