Library land has been a difficult place to be for several years. You really need a few trusted colleagues to commiserate with or to find people (like librarians🙂) in other professions who understand the toll uncertainty and attacks take. It’s demoralizing and you need comradery.

Friends who are not in academia or research don’t understand what’s happening. Rarely an hour goes by when there isn’t some kind of depressing news or confusing news. And on top of it all we’re losing funding and jobs. I try to explain it, but too many people it seems like life continues to go on
