Yeah I am sure they could win a few matches. But you said there were better USL clubs in MLS over a 35 game plus season. And you offered no evidence of that. Have you looked at any USLC rosters? They are AWFUL. CFC brought a 35% USL roster to MLS and won 6 games and that was 2018 MLS. USL sucks

But they aren't better than the worst teams in MLS. USL players are mostly AWFUL. Have you bothered to look at USL rosters? The gap is HUGE as the USOC this year proved.

USL transfers are rare cause there aren't many good players in the USL. USL players who have been transferred to MLS have done very little. That is the only reason. USL have to start playing better on at higher levels.

Did you see what happened when MLS played the USL in the USOC? It was a massacre. If there were USL teams better than MLS clubs, then more than ONE USL team would have managed to sneak through. And that was playing MLS BACKUPS academy kids. So please explain THAT. Cause it destroys your nonsense.

I would love you to interview Bobby Warshaw more. Ask him where the money is going to come from for his "world class" rosters for the USL? The USL has zero very rich owners. Where is the money going to come from when a 15k stadium is now drawing 3k in USL1? There is no TV money in the USL. Hope lol

Also expect MLS to announce that MLSNext will be applying for D2 in 2027/28 and that they will form their own MLS D3. They will announce their own form of pro-rel that will go through playoffs. MLS knows that pro-rel is meaningless without them since USL has no money

Remember that the USL is owned by NuRock which is 2 men. The entire league can be sold to MLS. The USL knows that FIFA and the USSF don't want two D1 leagues. See India. So they are doing this to try and sell to MLS, similar to the WHA/NHL. This is a Hail Mary for USL owners to finally get money

The problem though, is they seem to have no plan beyond publicity. I guess they expect ESPN to give them billions based on clubs no one cares about moving up and down. In reality, without MLS pro-rel is meaningless. This is all an attempt by the USL to sell the league to MLS. And MLS doesn't want it

I am sorry Jeff you had to do the dreaded "pro-rel" story for clicks. The USL was smart in one thing. It got them publicity. No one is talking about them getting smashed by MLS in the USOC. That USLC attendance is down this year. That level of play is bad. They are selling dreams and unicorns.

Also we are in the age of uber American nationalism and anti-foreign investment. Not exactly the right climate for foreign colonization. Europe missed its chance about 15 years ago. Now MLS is established and Americans want THEIR leagues to be the best in the league. Not Europe's.

Strongly disagree. European clubs have tried to colonize America for years and have failed. The EPL has stagnated here and hit a ceiling. It's totally ignored by the U.S. sporting culture and ratings haven't grown. The Bundesliga and La Liga were ignored. MLS has only grown in the years.
