I love all of this. 🤍

For your questions: 1. Absolutely. The contest is for a dev edit, so I’m not looking for perfection, or else I wouldn’t have a job. ;) As long as the voice and writing are pretty clean, I would be open to anything that fits my MSWL. 2. I’m a new editor this year, so I don’t have a process yet. ✨

I love this. I’ve never read a story set there. International settings are always so fun.

For real, I’m so obsessed with this. Love, love, love all of this!!!

2/2 It’s fun when the cops don’t take the MC seriously. This is another popular trope. As for traits of FMCs I like, I love strong female characters who are sassy, bold, and fierce. Bonus points too if they’re funny. :) These are some things, but this isn’t a checklist necessarily. Please sub!

1/2 Some things are for sure coming to mind. First, it’s fun when the MC has a quirky hobby or talent, or owns some kind of unique shop. That’s definitely a cozy mystery trope. I also love small town settings. That way, all the characters and suspects know each other and are connected.

Um hello! This sounds flippin’ amazing!!!

Hi! First, yes! Anything in the mystery/thriller space is something I would love to see. I also enjoy humor and romance threads. As for the genre, I would need to see more to give a definite answer, but for sure submit if you think you would like to work with me. :)

Ooh, yes! I love YA contemporary fantasy and novels with dual POV! ✨

I definitely need to check them out. I haven’t heard their music before!

Also, Writing the Intimate Character by Jordan Rosenfeld is an amazing craft book that helped me with voice. Now, when I read all my stories, there is a flavor that makes the narrative style similar—my author voice—but also unique elements based on what character is narrating.

You’re welcome. Think of it as filtering your own voice through the character. Like, if, say, you pick up a Rick Riordan book—huge PJO fan here—the narrative is different for each protag, but there’s still a flavor that marks the story as one of Rick’s.

I love this so much. It’s always fun connecting with other musicians. Along with the classical music, I’m typical a pop and country girlie!

Aw thank you :)

Yay, I love that!!!! What kind of music do you like/write?

Now, it’s your turn. Feel free to ask me any questions. If you don’t have a question, drop a reply and let me know what genre you’re submitting to #RevPit this year. I’ll be checking replies often. #MeetTheEditor 🦋

And Finally, plot twist! One more fun fact. I subbed to #RevPit in 2023. Though I didn’t get chosen, I met authors I’m still friends with now. This contest is about having fun, networking, and making friends. #MeetTheEditor

I hope you enjoyed the video. For transparency, the music is the instrumental of my song, “Make Time,” which I obviously own. Okay, ready for more? #RevPit #MeetTheEditor

Hey Cidney, congrats on your book! Did you still want to be on Literary Blend? I replied to your email. Haven’t heard from you so wanted to check in here.

Hahaha. Love this. Also, your first RevPit! So exciting. You’re going to have so much fun.

Hey! Yes, this butterfly is a new RevPit editor!!! To answer your question, I’m personally going to select an author I haven’t worked with previously. I’m worried choosing one of my Amethyst Ink authors may be perceived as favoritism. But please do submit to other amazing editors for the contest!

Hi! Yes, absolutely. I love speculative twists, and time travel would definitely fall into that category.
