Totally a first world problem but man nothing feels like its going well. Game group never really recovered from COVID so I miss more weekends then I do. Family is only really into very light games which is fine but doesn't scratch the itch.

Just going to say this as a Biology major and one who taught it for years. If you are teaching biology and do not teach Evolution as the best explanation for the diversification of life you are not actually teaching biology.

I heard from some people I know at different universities in Iowa they are being told not to talk to government officials without first having university legal teams present. I am so done with this world.

I am finding it harder and harder to take public educator as a job seriously. Between politicians passing laws to screw things up. Administration who either wont or cant actually discipline children. Children being emotionally abusive to each other and teachers and you cant expel them.

So apparently Iowa is trying to change Evolution to biological change and climate change to climate trends in our state standards. I’m sure this completely innocent 🤮. As a science educator I will be using only the correct terms.
