My goal is to use education to teach children to think, reason, analyze the world around them to understand what is bullshit and recognize when its happening to them. Also, while doing this protect the kids I can from the existing bullshit.

My autism though wont let me go to protests. Its too much sensory overload. I will, am, have engaged in malicious compliance, noncompliance, secretive undermining of anything I can do.

Its just going to take time to build up a movement again. Overall I like what I am seeing though and I hope it continues. ICE is a great first target. Make them fear entering public professionally and privately I say.

Yeah its not helpful and its a culture thing. We don't have the long history of protest and revolutions that some countries have. The powers that be have also send decades beating us down, making us exhausted, making us feel powerless.

I hear you. I have one okay at best. The rest was a vote against the one I didn't want and sadly only had the other option.

hmmmm I will have to check this out. My general view is that any style of music can be 80% more epically awesome if you mix it with metal :). According to my wife I am also a barbarian so I don't know how much anyone should listen to me lol.

No one sells them anything, no one invites them anywhere, family disowns them. Complete and utter social isolation.

I want ICE and anyone who assists them to live in fear and are scared shitless to do their raids. Basically what they do to other people.

If you have not listened to it and want an insane but fascinating World War 2 story check out season 1 of Worlds Greatest Con Podcast. Literally one of the best listens of my life.

I listened to this one a couple months ago it was super interesting. I will pretty much give anything a go that gets recommended by Hardcore History

That is so cool. Congratulations.

I used to have it bad in terms of thinking I was not a great teacher. The damage to education has chased out so many good/experienced teachers that there are not a lot around with my background knowledge and skills. So that is something I guess.

Honestly I am kind of always baffled by the name to do national anthems at events not involving different nations.

Looks awesome. Good on you both. I would screw up any home renovations I would try lol.

The research I have seen on deadlines and such does not support this as good for children and I have yet to say any decent research that does.

They don't try hard the first time because they can always redo it. They cheat like crazy because they will be allowed to redo it. It puts most of the burden of learning on the teacher because they are supposed to give them 50 billion chances.

The only thing this does is help schools look better. I have taught for 17 years and this philosophy has done more damage to kids in the long run than almost anything else in education. They have no concept of deadlines.

and I include all billionaires not just business ones. So yes I am including people like Taylor Swift.

I’ll let multi millionaires go for now but billionaire should not exist and they are not morale. I don’t care which one you pick anyone sucking up that much resource is not a good person as I define it.

That seriously sucks but staying out of this craphole country is definitely the best move. My wife and I are going to start traveling more and enjoy what we can when we can.

I mean if I was allowed to only buy or support one publisher there is no contest that it would be Amabel.

They are perfectly willing to risk it if that is the worst that will happen. If we were to take it for more than a day (which we could legally do) parents go ape shit about it. They are just a huge problem when it comes to teaching and learning.

If you are not a teacher you do not have an idea of how bad it is. Kids will use all tricks in the book to sneak on to them, keep EarPods in, etc.. The amount of time I spend on this is ridiculous. Taking it away for the day if they are caught is not enough.

I have so many solo games I need to break out. Being an Educator kills my energy anymore these days. Every year I get closer to just getting out. The only real issue is what can I do that I would enjoy.

It was like that when I was in Ireland. Part of me was annoyed but then when I realized it’s because they don’t want to work to death like Americans I kind of wanted the same.

When we were visiting New Zealand we loved hitting local bakeries in the morning for pastries, pies, and coffee in the morning. I super wish we had something similar where I live but that is a no go.

Not sure if its related at all but since I am self diagnosed I sometimes question if I am indeed autistic. Then usually something happens that confirms for sure that I am. Unfortunately these are never good things.

By all means though vote with your money. Not paying for things that use AI in a way you find objectionable is completely OK and just. But don't delude yourself that we can make it go away.

Also if our tech base keeps expanding we are just going to lose more and more jobs to automation that is an unavoidable path. I fully believe universal basic income or something like that will be needed. I also think that is largely and unavoidable path.

One can make a case that social media also causes lots of harm and I don't see people rushing to destroy it and get off of it. We couldn't uninvent nuclear bombs either. I don't care how much you want it gone its just not going to happen.
