See: Climate.

Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless. You are never alone, dear President Zelenskyy. We will continue working with you for a just and lasting peace.

Even if I know how horrible it is on USA, it still shocks me to watch Trump being that rude and disrespectful. Talking like a casino man. You don’t have the cards… wow. Sympathy for Zelensky

Here's a schematic I published in this 2021 piece to illustrate how even a modest delay in onset of rainy season in Southern California can dramatically amplify wildfire risk by lengthening seasonal overlap between dry vegetation and strong offshore winds during Oct-Jan. #CAfire

The #Palisades fire has destroyed 5,316 structures according to a preliminary Cal Fire estimate using infrared imagery. That would make the Palisades fire the 3rd most damaging fire in California history. Cal Fire says a final estimate will be made after they complete an on the ground survey.

I only regret that I have but one Washington Post subscription to cancel for my country.

Writer friends. Has it ever happened to you? You write a serious book. The characters are round people. Then something happens and they all start bitching and telling all sorts of unhinged stories. Being so mean to beloved sisters. Like what is wrong with you? #authors

I don’t go to malls. I don’t do shopping. I am on medical leave and I don’t leave the house. Living in my bedroom. So why “last christmas” plays in my head non stop??? (We don’t do Christmas as well)

All That Remains tells the story of a 13-year-old as she recovers from having her leg amputated after an Israeli airstrike. “It changed the trajectory of her life forever … but it didn’t even register on international media’s reporting because of all the massacres that were going on.”

I am not a big fan of Christmas songs except for one… Last Christmas… a hot friend group… hidden feelings. Mystery. Has everything you need. #christmas

Today marks 35 years since a gunman entered Polytechnique, separated the men from the women & shot 14 women to death. It is now Canada's National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence against Women. Threads suck on this app but going to try and include my thoughts here as possible : 🧵

I cannot wait to read The Champagne Letters. I pre-ordered it, but now I have to wait. I am thinking of mimosas. If this were a book club, I would suggest brunch! #katemacintosh #thechampagneletters #booksky📚💙 #authors

I need some confidence to write today. Where can I find it? #booksky #authors. (Wrong answers only)

Don't worry, they'll try to do it again on a day where people aren't out there assassinating medical insurance CEOs www.axios.com/2024/12/05/b...

The biggest contrast between "boring headline" and "amazing lede" I've ever seen.

An important reminder that pandemics historically come with a swing towards eugenics and ableism, and we’re seeing it everywhere, from mask bans to the assisted death discourse to the return of the r-word. If we abuse & abandon disabled ppl, it will destroy us. Count on it.

It’s fascinating to see “raw milk” people boiling milk again—it takes me back 40 years to when my mom used to do it. I’d stand by, watching carefully to stop it from spilling over. Did I move back in time?

Being an immigrant has its perks—no tree, no cooking, no cards, no guests, no gifts, no shopping. Just pure relaxation.

Do I need a villian for my climate change fiction book? Do I have to choose one? (Wrong answers only) #authorsky #climatechange

This is a critical way to fight climate change: one small, very difficult victory at a time. It's also important because it exhibits "not obeying in advance" and not yielding anything. Congrats Vancouver.

I was spied on by a series of undercover police for most of my adult life, for my long-standing environmental campaigning. I thought I knew a lot, but when you see it laid out, of the powerful closing ranks, it’s staggering. The St Andrews University quote in particular is utterly disgusting.
