I watched ep 1 of the Scott Pilgrim anime in English, and then I've watched it again in Japanese to see how the script got translated. There's a style of snappy, down-to-earth dialogue that's popular in English-language comedy, and I find it so interesting to see the Japanese language do that.

Anime 'zines of the 80s to the turn of the millennium. The homegrown passion and collaborative focus behind these and video game ones were what inspired my own this year. I remember picking up quite a few zines in the mid 90s as I got heavily into anime and joined my first anime club.
