Final #Spanner #amediting update for the night: Enough with Chapter 3. Note that I made Spanner In The Works villain Lord Becket an Oxfordian who rages at people like his nemesis Grail Keeper Ariel who think Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare. Time to back up. #BookSky

#Spanner #amediting progress update on Spanner In The Works: I removed the last placeholder from Chapter 37. Now Sia's cousin Blake makes himself useful for the first time by interrupting the network broadcast with a clip of the legendary Max Headroom piratecast: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Hea...

Bad Brains was one of the first punk bands I got into as a kid, and I remember being completely blown away the first time I heard them. I only got to see them live once, but it was a helluva show.

I'm tired of people celebrating Bad Brains as if they never wrote a song about how AIDS is God's (or, in their case, Jah's) cure for gay people and then have refused to apologize for it for like 40 years.

One of the greatest bands of the punk era. We need punk again. Enjoy, its good for you.

Crockett: “I’m tired of the white tears. If you’re competent you’re not concerned. When you compare me to Greene/Boebert there’s no comparison… The only ppl crying are mediocre white boys beaten out by people that had to work much harder.” Full: www.instagram.com/reel/DFp8K0M...

they are mostly targeting black employees so this is quite literally just a repeat of woodrow wilson’s segregationist purge of the federal government

Me though

JUST IN: The FBI Agents Association, repped by @markzaidesq.bsky.social, has filed a second lawsuit on behalf of agents who sayd their inforation may be publicly disseminated and used as part of a purge. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

There is still beauty in this world

It’s okay. You’re allowed to post about both Taylor Swift and the US government coup. We’re complex creatures with multifaceted interests.

And right on cue, the mediocre white boys, especially those most drunk on power, are triggered and try to cancel her. Their reaction's so predictable, it's downright Pavlovian. I like her. 💙🔥

Checking back in after an unplanned social media break and could feel my cortisol spiking almost immediately. I'm not sad I read 30 books instead of doomscrolling since the transition

This is VERY good news. Love bookshop.org and all the stuff they do! www.salon.com/2025/01/28/b...

this is exactly what i’m getting at when i see these people have no understanding of civil society. they do not seem to conceptualize other people as having agency whatsoever.

A #retrogames related final note before I go back to editing, involving my #Atari7800+. I just ordered the available #Atari7800 games that I don't have: Berzerk, Frenzy, Asteroids Deluxe, and Space Duel. Just the thing to make #amprocrastinating fun, at least as long as I don't get too agitated...

#Spanner #amediting: I'm almost done with the final edits to the first 37 chapters of Spanner In The Works. All that remains is some edits to Chapter 3 I've been putting off for months and one final tweak to Chapter 37. Then I'll start the difficult reorganization of Chapters 38-41. #BookSky

I'm back, and I can explain my absence: a mix of #amediting and #amprocrastinating. Fortunately I've been doing a lot more editing in the last few days.

It's been a week. The shock part is over; the awe part never happened. Time to be throwing sand into the fascist gears, y'all.

not only was non-citizen voting common but the causal relationship between citizenship and voting was often reversed, that is, voting was how a non citizen *demonstrated* their commitment to the political community such that they could become citizens

I reread this a few months ago and I wept for this poor soul that didnt deserve any of it. Suffering and optimism for nothing. She would call me silly for wasting the energy, but I cant help it. I read Animal Farm last year and it put me in a small tailspin. The world is so fucking cruel rn

Okay, #BookSky, here's my #Spanner #amediting = #amprocrastinating update: I just made the edits I was planning to Spanner In The Works chapter 36. I'll finish that chapter tomorrow. Good night... "And now, back to our commercial."

The dumbest time eeeeeeeveeeeeerrrrrrr

Signing off so I can play my Atari games (that's what I'm procrastinating right now). Plan for tomorrow: more editing. Who knows, I might even edit a little before going to bed just to procrastinate my videogame playing...

OpenAI: China stole our tech!! Luddites: Oh weird how'd you make your tech in the first place OpenAI: 😡

Some conspiracy fantasies are indistinguishable from hallucination. I wonder how long it'll take before antivax influencers turn this doozy into an unquestionable dogma...

Apple AI also spelled “Colombian” wrong

Why I don't trust Apple's AI tools... Years ago, while driving: Me: "Siri, get me directions to Rodeo Goat," a restaurant in Dallas. Siri: [confidently] "Here are some florists!" (displays a list) Frustrated, I tossed the phone onto the passenger seat and figured it out myself.
