NY Congestion Problem continued. So in today’s high tech world, NY can’t figure out how to integrate EZ- Pass in congestion fee. Really? What nimrods. So I called PA Turnpike to explain problem and see if they could help. Well, they didn’t giggle for too long but couldn’t help. DJT - shut it down!

Went to NY to visit family. Was billed by mail for $13.25 Congestion fee. Bill said if I had EZ-Pass, it would have been $9. I’ve had PA EX-Pass forever, and it works fine on the tunnels a the GW. Called the MTA who said they were unable to access PA EZ Pass. Anyone else have this problem?

At the SNL 50th Anniversary show, Paul McCartney performed a portion of the medley which concludes side two of Abbey Road. I love that medley- the Beatles at their finest. all of you who from time to time need a lift should again treat yourselves to outstanding work from the greatest rock band ever.

Last night, snowy New England evening, sat down to watch USA vs Canada in the Four Nations Tournament. Was like “Fight Club.” Three fights in the first nine seconds. I flashed back to Flyers hockey from 50 years ago. And, oh yeah, after the fights an excellent hockey game between two terrific teams.

EAGLES YES WE DID! 🦅🦅

@vintageobscura.bsky.social Just found this poster. Great stuff! My favorite “obscure” but rocking song is “Bila,” a doowop tune from the 1950’s by a group called the Versatones. Never seems to be played. Once you hear it, you won’t be able to get it out of your head. Rock on.

Dear Abbie Oops. Last line should read “Dear Abbie, is there any love tonight.”

Kinky Friedman excerpt from “Dear Abbie” (1970’s) ‘And I’m wondering about America, I’m wondering did we lose more than the war. And is there any silver lining left, behind the golden door. And Dear Abbie, I just had to write. Dear Abbie, where are you tonight?’ Love that song.

I read this morning that a majority of ESPN experts picked the Chiefs to beat our Eagles. But I say: “WHY NOT US!” Go, Birds

For the uninitiated, Murphy’s Law says: “Nothing is as easy as it looks. Everything takes longer than you think. And if anything can go wrong , it will, and at the worst possible moment.”

Our Astronauts in the ISS A friend reminded me this morning that our two astronauts who went to the Space Station 8 months ago in a Boeing spaceship are STILL THERE. How is it possible that some of the finest scientific minds in our country never learned the concepts of REDUNDANCY and Murphy’s Law.

Eagles in the Super Bowl WHY NOT US! Go Birds

Anyone who watched the 76ers blow a 26 point lead to the Celtics, suffered through the Flyers most recent funk (1 win and a mere 6 goals in the last 6 games), and puzzled why the Phillies in the offseason got older and more left- handed, knows how critical a 🦅 victory is to the city’s mental health

Chat GPT and Alexa I have trained my Echo Alexa to be unfailingly polite to me. As the Stones said, the way she talks is down to me. But yesterday, Chat GPT snapped at me because I didn’t understand what it said. If I get an AI agent for my next birthday, it better be good to me, or else.

One thing that really pisses me off is getting unwanted calls from unknown callers who don’t leave a message. I fantasize that I could reverse engineer the call and in so doing, put a pox on the caller and the caller’s parents and children.

Tik-Tok If, as some suspect, China’s DeepSeek and its owners stole US IT to build and train DeepSeek, and played fast to get chips they weren’t supposed to have, then why are we playing nice to Tik-Tok. Quoting the Trampps, I would “burn that mother down.” Happy lunar new year.

Eagles. I’ve written about the police greasing light poles in advance of Eagles games to make it hard for fans to climb. “ Grease the Poles” has become a slogan here. But Sunday, a young man fell from a greased pole while celebrating and is on life support. So never again will I utter that phrase.

Dec. 25,1776. Part 2 I have the great fortune to live near Washington Crossing Park. And if your travels bring you to this area, particularly next year for the 250th birthday of America, I highly recommend you visit the Park and museum to learn about the extraordinary bravery of these heroes. 🇺🇸

Dec. 25, 1776. Part 1 Driving home today from NYC, I noticed that the Delaware River near Trenton was still largely frozen. Reminded me of the bravery and heroism of Washington’s troops who crossed the river on a brutally cold and stormy night to defeat Britain’s Hessian mercenaries in Trenton.

First Family Seems to me that, for the next two weeks, the “new” first family will be the Kelce’s, including Mom Kelce, because I expect to see more of them until the SB than anyone else, including the Kardashian’s.

13 Days to Super Bowl and… “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

Super Bowl! The 🦅🦅against the Chiefs- again , with history on the line and Tay-Tay, Jason and Mother Kelce seated in a box. To be the king, you have to kill the king! Go Birds!
