They're going so fast that the live Japanese-to-English translators are struggling to keep up. They sound exhausted.

Claude for coding, although I did get to try the latest Gemini Pro and it seemed to work even better than Claude in my limited use.

Here's part 4 of my "Kamal Review Apps" series, where I show one way to automatically generate unique URLs to access the deployed review apps. This way, you'll have a consistent way to reach these servers for testing without needing to find the server's IP address.

I've read the latest beta and it's solid!

I've been using Cloudflare Turnstile recently, it works great.
I'm not using any gems or libraries to set it up. I just set the JS script in the view, and make an HTTP call for validation on the backend.

Thanks for sharing this! It's pretty impressive how Gemini has seemingly been getting much better lately. I've completely slept on it.

This video is the third part of a series where I set up a web app to automatically spin up and deploy a fully-working test environment when opening a pull request on GitHub. It's similar to Heroku's review apps but using Kamal and your own infrastructure to give you more control over your testing.

Lesson learned: If you have any kind of public-facing website that can trigger emails (like sign up pages or contact forms), put some kind of protection whether it's a CAPTCHA, WAF, or anything that will protect you from malicious users.

I think when it get cheaper and easier to do at home, it'll probably spike. For most it's not worth to have a 3D printer at home (personally I likely would use it a handful of times a year) and it's still not a straightforward process to print even the simplest of things.

The funny thing is that the video announcing the change mentions why they went with Go after experimenting with other alternatives.

I've used asdf for a long time and it's always worked great for me. I briefly looked at mise but didn't see the hype around it to make it worth switching, but that was likely because I don't really need all the extras. I very much prefer having a tool do one thing really well and that's it.

As a Puerto Rican I've never snowboarded a day in my life, but for some reason I always enjoy seeing videos like these.

I've legitimately had the "we should open a coffee shop" conversation with my wife after coming back from a productive few hours at my local place 😆

This brings up painful memories of my past with Pivotal Tracker instead of Jira.
I began calling it the "Whose Line Is It Anyway" app, where everything's made up and the points don't matter 😁

Thanks for the advice. That does make sense and something that I need to begin doing more and doing it consistently. I've attempted in the past on other platforms but likely didn't give the attempts much of a chance.
