For over 45yrs I had that dream. I would write a few words/pages from time to time until a few months before my 60th birthday when I finally sat down and said fuck it I am going to write. 18 months later I now have 4 complete novels, several short stories and 2 novellas - you can do this!!!

Absolutely agree with that! Although sometimes it's a bit of an effort sorting the wheat from the chaff but I think it's worth it to find that little bit of magic

Absolutely no problem, and, I wasn't trying to be clever or anything - it was a genuine answer to your question. I hope you get lots of recommendations, have a successful day.

I'm sure you've got your reasons but the best book I've read this year was by a self-published author - and no it wasn't one of mine!

I suppose it more a question of what they do with your data. I left meta because they used pirated copies of my books to train their ai. Will the Chinese do the same? They probably already have, they just haven't been stupid enough to get caught.....yet!

I came off meta after having my novels pirated and used by them to train their ai (along with thousands of other authors books). It was admittedly a petty and futile gesture on my part and has cost me a lot in terms of brand exposure but I 'll keep plugging away here

Tried it but struggled, particularly with the visuals but I plan on trying again. I was hoping that bluesky would be more productive/active but...!
