Figure skating world championships were considered to be for men only until 1902, when Madge Syers showed up and took home silver and the ISU went "whooooops guess we need to segregate them." It happened again in 1992 Olympic skeet shooting: Zhang Shan took gold and then they segregated the event.

imo the only realistic path to power for people who want to really fight for a better world is conquering the democratic party & replacing its leaders. third parties don't work on national scales, the other major party isn't an option, & current leadership of this one is obv not up to the challenge
