We're thrilled to share our interview with Sunaura Taylor - artist, professor, environmentalist, & critical disabilities scholar. Click to read about abandonment, vulnerability, a crip reading of Darwin, injury environmentalism, and disabled imagination. bit.ly/taylorCAC

I just realized today is my 1 year anniversary of moving to Puerto Rico 🎉 I tried multiple times in 15 years to move here, but this time it worked. I left behind an abusive relationship and a city I hated. I moved to a town where at least 8 generations of my ancestors were born.

Shared a sketchbook page on Ko-fi and talked about how my tendency for improvisation in music and sewing has become so important to my visual art practice. One-time and monthly supporters get access to all posts and digital downloads! Come say hi and #SupportDisabledArtists 🖤

Reminder that if you become a monthly supporter by the 28th, I'll mail* you this postcard that you can send to a friend, frame as a mini print, or stick on your fridge! Car repairs have been made thanks to this month's supporters, but I'm still only halfway to my goal 🖤 *US/territories only

Ko-fi supporters just got a link to download my latest wallpaper set, Guatoána Jayúya Landscape 🍊 Both one-time and monthly supporters get access to all posts and downloads, so help me reach this month’s goal (I’m halfway there!) and grab some art for your screens 🖤 ko-fi.com/destinytoro

There are many Spanish names and words that are Taino in origin, but there are also many English words that come from Taino! Like lounging in a hammock? Our Taino ancestors loved their hamaka’no as well. And tobako. And traversing the waters in a canoa 🛶

Guaraguao, the Red-tailed Hawk #art #illustration Like múcaro (owl), guaraguao is a surviving Taino name for hawk!

Excellent thread on using alt text, also please use alt text!

I love this animation I did last year about jagua and the universe. A lot of my work is about processing Taino indigenity and connecting to our stories visually. #art #animation
