Turns out in the Watch Duty app I had to add LA County for monitoring before it would give me notifications about that fire. Not really impressed with the app. Seems they could notify you of any fire within 50 miles of you.

As someone who has flown remote control airplanes, I think it is ridiculous the FAA allows drone operation anywhere over public or private property. My strong feeling is they should be banned everywhere except for designated drone operation properties, just like R/C airplanes are.

We lost Otis Crumbcake this year. Photo is on Route 66 when my daughter was moving cross country several years ago "ruling the dog park". He was found on the streets of Oakland missing an ear, but he was such a sweetheart.

I built my own soccer net out of PVC pipe when my kid got old enough to kick the ball around. Neighbor said it was "pretty cool". My daughter never used it, she went on to play volleyball instead.

I was steered wrong by a ranger before. At King’s Canyon-Sequoia NP I wanted to drive up to panoramic point and the Ranger said if the gate to the road is open it’s passible. It was not. Luckily other hikers helped us turn the car around in 3 feet of snow.
