One more little cutie graduated today, Peppermint Patty! The slowest of the Sweet Treats kittens to become tame, but once she decided to turn in her feral card, she never looked back, fully embracing the cuddly life with her whole being! We’re so happy she’ll have another kitten her age to befriend.

coming this holiday season

Did you know there’s a whole spectrum of stuff in between “spend all weekend cleaning your house” and “don’t do anything at all because it’s so overwhelming”? Wipe down one counter. Put away half a load of laundry. Vacuum one room. You can do a little bit, and it helps! And then you can stop!

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Also if you feel strongly about Eric Adams, you should call your city councilmember to express that and ask for their position. You’d be surprised. Hochul’s stance is highly disappointing but it doesn’t come from nowhere. Press all your electeds. City elections are in 5 months. Ask candidates too.

Pretty obvious at this point that Trump is just Musk's servant. Elon wants to go to Ft Knox so Trump is taking him to Ft Knox. I can't recall a single time since the election that Trump told Musk, "No."

Just a random reminder that trickle-down economics was invented by conservatives in the 1980s to justify massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. It’s been nothing short of a disaster.

Republicans=Nazis

brief thread. since we focus on the role of local institutions at Bolts, one thing we knew we wanted to do when Trump won was: ramp up our reporting on how local law enforcement is responding — & why it matters. it's still early days — but some important articles from our team as patterns emerge:

Judges need to stop acting like these are good faith actors engaged in normal personnel practices. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/military-p...

Running thread of people trying to normalize the sieg heil. It's not an "Elon gesture", it's not autism, it's not your heart going out, it's not parody or trolling. It's fucking despicable. Don't ever let this shit become normal. Fuck any excuse given, there is none. Zero tolerance. 1. Elon Musk

Made it to Arlington, VA, for another #TeslaTakedown. Some wonderful soul brought a Ukrainian flag!

You know what? Now the cybertruck design makes a lot more sense. It does look like a WWII nazi armored vehicle.🤔

I can't tell you how much I hate this.

As popes go, Francis has been quite a good one. I hope we have some more time with him.

Can't imagine what the editors meeting is gonna look like at the NYT on Monday when they're gonna have to figure out how to ignore not one but two obvious Nazi salutes during CPAC

They're supposed to find all the Hitler particles Von Braun buried all over the place so Elon & RFK Jr can huff em, probably, idk I might not even be joking, who knows what the fuck is going on 1819news.com/news/item/fb...

Sigh. Having a viral moment over on The Bad Place and so much of it is folks who are infuriated at the idea of historical expertise because it doesn't flatter their notions that history is about Great Men and the Greatest Man, invariably either Donald Trump or Elon Musk.

Fantastic piece by @adamserwer.bsky.social of the resegregation of America under Trump.

American carnage Perpetuated by those who manulipate the 2nd Amendment to fit their sick distorted perception of the right to bear arms This, the country has a widespread mental health issue when it comes to the 2nd Amendment abcnews.go.com/US/multiple-...

Not a good sign for someone who has access to all the most advanced healthcare in the world.

the ‘pro-business’ party is now a protection racket

The EU stepping in when the Russian compromised leader of the United States won't.

Due to legal technicalities, Luigi Mangione is now the mayor of new york city

"In every state, every congressional district, and more than 95 percent of counties in the United States, public charities receive government grants. Without these grants, most nonprofits would be unable to cover their expenses." Should not be a partisan issue. www.urban.org/research/pub...

Update on the Measles outbreak in Texas and New Mexico www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/u... There likely hundreds of cases, so many not being diagnosed. And many more to come. All preventable.

Congrats to Trump’s new picks for top military posts for meeting the job description. You don’t have to say yes, you know.
