Medical advances in the past few decades have redefined migraine as a treatable and manageable condition. Research is also leading to a better understanding about the condition and pointing to directions for future work. Read the Nature feature. 🧪

Speaking of impulse shopping, anyone flying out from #AEC2025can grab some Uncle Nearest from the airport after security! The tough part is squeezing it into your suitcase...

Don’t mind if I do! p.s. impulse shopping at a good airport gift shop can be quite comforting rn

Just gonna remind everyone that Nashville is in central TN

@acgme.bsky.social #AEC2025 off to a great start! Anyone who’s here, stop by the #BackToBedside table in the exhibit hall and check out our session on designing trainee well-being interventions 👇

Seems like a good time to remind everyone that the concern about GBS and the flu vaccine stems from a single vaccination season 50 years ago. On the whole, subsequent data suggest the risk is higher from influenza infection than vaccination. www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

@acgme.bsky.social #AEC2025 here I come!

Forget who said it, sorry for not citing, but saw a take recently that anyone can be an advocate by doing what they're uniquely able to do for anyone they're uniquely able to help. To my colleagues in medicine, in all roles, keep doing what you do for Pts. This is your circle of strongest influence!

Diverse brains require a diverse set of neurologists to treat them. Embrace the brainbow!

New CDC data shows maternal deaths drop, except for Black women, who still die at three times the rate of any other race or ethnicity, with no improvement in 2023. www.axios.com/2025/02/06/b...

My #Yale colleague Harlan Krumholz explains why the cuts to indirect costs are a disaster for biomedical research in the United States. Want to do something about it? I'll list those who have to hear from us below. Share, recruit friends and family to help. 1/ www.statnews.com/2025/02/08/n....

Might be a good time to download some articles from pubmed. Ya know, while we can. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30153227/

Normalize pronouncing DOGE as DOUCHE.

Raw milk? Raw water? Raw pet food? Raw testicles? How did "raw" become the new "natural"? My take from 2018 (terrible idea then, terrible idea now): www.nbcnews.com/think/opinio...

Listen to anything by AC⚡️DC during the Brian Johnson era and tell me the recurrent laryngeal nerve isn’t an evolutionary miracle.

Child life services at pediatric hospitals should offer a service where they’ll mess with teens after anesthesia and film it for the kid’s TikTok

The hardest part of academic medicine, hands down, is finding the pdf link for a journal article.

Workshop this idea: instead of training an AI to deny claims, insurance companies should train a chat bot that will discuss your situation and tell you what your coverage will be.

@mcuban.bsky.social if you happen to see this, where can I learn about/suggest future neuro drugs to be included at @costplusdrugs.com?

Two years ago today we were awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for protecting The US Capitol on January 6th 2021. Almost 4 years later the efforts to downplay, whitewash and minimize what happened appear to be succeeding. I won't ever stop standing up to them.

So cool!

Why not use cycling wheelchairs for Parkinson's and beyond? Check out this video by Okada and colleagues in the Movement Disorders Clinical Practice. No person with Parkinson's should ever be 'left behind.' Love the added exercise component. movementdisorders.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

This is where US healthcare system based on physician-patient relationship spends its money. Whether it’s ignorant or intentional, it is important to ignore the noise. To curtail expenses and expand care, perhaps focus on the other 92.7%. #MedSky
