I scrolled past this, assumed it was just a random non sequitur, and kept going. I scrolled back up when it clicked to give you kudos. Nice one!

No, but my friend Tom always calls those paintings “Art by The Pound”

DuckDuckGo is what I switched to. Very happy so far!

I just quit using Google as my primary search. Been using it without a second thought for over two decades. No way to disable to AI results at the top of the list. Frequently wrong. Always wasting my time.

I was also a hopeful. Ggs out there to you all the other candidates. Seems like it might be a good choice, but it will sting for a while.

it's the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, chapters 1-3. when the local planning council tells arthur dent they're bulldozing his house to build a bypass, neither they nor any other human can object when the vogons tell the whole earth that they're demolishing it to build a hyperspace expressway.

I disliked long writing assignments in college, but “rote task” is not how I would describe most of those assignments. The point was the act of writing it, not the document it produced.

Exploding Whale was the very first video I downloaded. (~1997) RealMedia Video? QuickTime Video? Some very 90s format and super compressed, as you’d expect.

Have we come to an agreement with The Principality of Sealand?

1. The first print issue of The Onion just arrived. 2. I’d forgotten that I subscribed under my daughters’ names. 3. I just gave it to my 9 year old without explanation or context. Let’s see what happens!

Yes to what you said. Also, this movie has the bit that concludes that Family Circus worsens the entire comics experience by sitting in the corner “waiting to suck.” In college in Cleveland at the time, and we LOVED the “waiting to suck” concept. We applied it liberally. Tim Couch comes to mind.

Some scamp has listed it as a public restroom in a popular online mapping app.

Ok, I made it to Edgefield Village Cemetery. I found the gravesite of Strom Thurmond and told him that his infamous Senate speech is down to second place. Thanks @booker.senate.gov for the inspiration.

Halfway there. Worth noting that I’m not making a trip to piss on Storm Thurmond’s grave, because I am a 43 year old man and that would be ridiculous. I am going to tell him that he’s down to second place, and the history books have one less reason to mention him.

Anyway I made some cleats out of plywood and reinstalled it correctly. Just need to go back to apply caulk. Should be done by summer 2029 (5/5)

You might think they simply didn’t support the side without the Structural Razor Blade. That would have been rude! Nope, instead we have half a blade that snapped and fell behind everything. The other half is lost into the cabinet body. Hoping it doesn’t appear in my utensil drawer someday. (4/5)

Other side is officially Not Good! Folks, that is my first encounter with a Structural Razor Blade. This one appear to be installed at Knuckle Slicing Height (3/5)

Woah, that pushed right down. Other side looks good though. (2/5)

It looked good to me when it happened. They really ought to be able to fire up split-screen with some frame matched views pretty quickly.

As a former ER doc, it was either that or someone doing a transaction in grams or ounces.

“tax cuts as well as his track record of reducing regulation and cutting government spending” (The author indicating why he voted for Trump.) Wanting to reduce regulations should NOT be a concept we throw around as a generally good idea. Regulations are written in blood. We forget, we pay again.

Not that I’m aware of. Sorry, just frustrated guessing. Docs that ran out of ideas for “how to make more people survive gunshot wounds” and suggested…reducing them…were a “stay in your lane!” controversy back in my day. A few more seconds of thought leads me to believe this is about COVID.

No Pulmonologist, just a lowly Emergency Doc, but I’ll suggest it’s because CHEST covers trauma.
