Love my wife, my kids, and my motorcycle! I'm in business resilience and continuity if you have questions. Also, into gardens and woodworking. Still holding out for a farm.

Unexpected, only in the sense that all the people paid to expect it and warn everyone else are gone.

That's the beauty of pistachios - the amount of calories you expend trying to open the darn things offsets the calories of the nut itself! (Totally inaccurate fact I just made up)

I worked with a TRS-80 that used a cassette tape for storage. Yeah, I'm that old!

If only they could open the "trickle down" like they did the faucet to California. That would likely make this really flow"

In Schoharie County, NY, we have "sloughter," which has pretty much that same usage: high praise or cutting insult, depending on context and delivery.

I have about 6 cardinal families, and it's obvious who's in charge (and who is just showing off their red coat)!

I tried to convince my wife i only planted 2 tomato plants this year. The other 3 came on their own. She doesn't believe me...(I really only planted 2)

It's amazing that last year, they were complaining (falsely) of FEMA not doing enough after Helene, then proceed to kneecap the agency. People have always associated FEMA with disaster response and want them there.

Maps still have a place in the world. I have several motorcycle trip maps for several states. You can't get that in a GPS.

Reminds me of the line in "Southern Cross" -" So we cheated and we lied and we tested, and we never failed to fail, it was the easiest thing to do."

Working on a good mid-life adventure on my bike. Still a little bit of a pipe dream, but hoping to take a couple of months just exploring. Gotta keep reality from crushing ideals!

Done! My wife is immunocompromised, and potentially not having access to the booster could be life threatening for her. No guarantee her MS qualifies as medically necessary.

A few years ago, we had a robin try to get through a window to build a nest in our chandelier. Every morning around 5:30, it would start tapping and banging on the window. Finally, I had to put tinfoil all along the window to scare it off.

I don't read a lot of short stories anymore, but I did read Lee Child's "Eleven Numbers" not too long ago. And give me most any Stephen King anthology. Sorry, I go for the big names.
