There will be no restoration of a constitutional republic until he is not only removed from power but repudiated as having never legitimately held it. The system simply can't fit back together again without that. You can't shatter the foundation to this degree and then try to rebuild on top of it.

The simplest, Constitutionally viable, scenario for Trump to remain President after 2028 is for him to be installed as Speaker of The House (since this position does not require being a member of Congress), and then for the President and Vice President to resign office.

Ten years ago, I suggested to comrades in the UK that if they believed so strongly in the Palestinian cause that they chose to boycott Israel, then they ought to organize boycotts of the US which is a much more brutal settler-colonial state. They scoffed. I don't think anyone is scoffing anymore.
